INSTALL BAT Installation Batch File
INSTALLATION:
The instructions are simple. You must have a hard drive or high density
floppy for HISTORY to run properly. To use the installation batch file
type "INSTALL A: C:" where A: is the Source Drive and C: is the drive you
are going to install HISTORY. To manually install, make a sud-directory on
your hard drive or high density floppy called \HISTORY and copy all files
into it. The program must find the history files in the \HISTORY subdir to
run. Then copy the HISTORY.EXE file into a directory in your path or add
\HISTORY to your path. Your system clock must be set at bootup.
TO RUN:
Type "HISTORY" for todays history.
Type "HISTORY 01-01" to see what happended on January 1.
Type "HISTORY 01-01-1989" for January 1 1989. This is useful to find days
that may come on a certain day of the year like Thanksgiving.
EDITING YOUR FILES WITHIN HISTORY ENVIRONMENT:
Type "HISTORY EDIT" to add special events, birthdays, or anniversaries to
your HISTORY files. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Page 2
MANUALLY EDITTING FILES:
If you choice to manually edit you will have to understand the format of
the history files. Use any text editor or word processor that can save
ascii text type format. Below you will be shown the position and purpose
of each character in the history files.
