  17. When you first INSTALL FS-PRO, please select MAIN MENU item #7.

  31. This module allows you to handle a lot of housekeeping
  32. chores with your FS-PRO and MODE files and also lets you
  33. customize the system to your specifications. If you do not
  34. see HIGH-LITE bars in the "Library" directories, then you
  35. will need to re-set your COLOR selections. By selecting the
  36. SETUP module, you can quickly experiment with color
  37. selections that will work with your computer.

  39. Be sure to check your PATHS using the SETUP module. And,
  40. type in your first and last name for personalized operation.
  41. Select UTILITIES from the MAIN MENU and then select SETUP.

  43. Please read the INFORMATION screens when you first operate
  44. the UTILITIES module. There is a help file similar to this
  45. with many helpful hints.

  47.       MAIN MENU and FLIGHT SIMULATOR VERSION

  49. Individual MODULES are called up from the MAIN MENU. And,
  50. you can always return to the FS-PRO MAIN MENU from any other
  51. MODULE. The menu prompt will display which version of the
  52. Microsoft Flight Simulator program you have installed in the
  53. PARM.OVL file.

  58. README.1ST file on FS-PRO system disk #1.

  65. You may access the HELP and MEMO module directly from the
  66. MAIN MENU. We have tried to provide you with a simple indexed
  67. help screen. Please browse through the information if this is
  68. the first time you have messed around with FS-PRO. Select the
  69. UTILITIES menu and then acccess the HELP/MEMO PAD module.

  76. You may access the Pilot's calculator from the Utilities Menu
  77. or the AIRCRAFT data base module and vice-versa. There is
  78. an important feature for weights and balances to demonstrate
  79. the use of these measurements to student pilots. Flight Simulator
  80. provides some data for the Cessna, Lear, Sophwith, etc. Our
  81. example entry (record #2) is a Cessna 172 with a CG set to 37".
  82. When you choose to use the calculator module, simply select
  83. the NUMBERS from the menu and then select AIRCRAFT #2 to see
  84. how the display works. We import the CG, weights and fuel
  85. data from your aircraft data base and make some preliminary
  86. calculations.

  88. The calculator also provides for specific weather calculations,
  89. sunrise and sunset azmuth and a USA/GMT time-zone display. You
  90. may shuttle between the aircraft module and the calculator or
  91. return at any point to the FS-PRO main menu. We have also
  92. included a WIND/COURSE CORRECTION/GS calculator.

  99. If you properly installed FS-PRO, then you may select item #1
  100. from the main menu and a list of the ADVENTURES that came in
  101. the ADVPAK1.EXE file will be presented in a window directory.
  102. Use the arrow keys to highlight a filename and the ENVIRONS
  103. screen will appear. If the highlight bar obliterates the file-
  104. name, then you have chosen a text foreground color of black
  105. and you will have to pick another color or put up with it.
  106. Experiment with color selections until you get something
  107. pleasing.

  128. If your checklist fails, then go back to the docs and read
  129. about INSTALLING the .MOD, .DAT, .ADV and AIRPORT data files
  130. into their PROPER DIRECTORY. This data is provided with the
  131. INSTALL program and must be on board for FS-PRO to work
  132. properly.

  139. First, you must go fly a particular scenerio that you enjoy.
  140. Most users will then use the "SLEW" controls to position the
  141. aircraft onto the scenery disk grid. This may be a simple
  142. "takeoff" setting or "upside down" in a stall facing a tornado
  143. at 10,000 feet, out of gas and no parachute.
  144.  
  145. The point is, you will discover many unusual scenes during your
  146. "flying" and you can SAVE them as a Flight Simulator MODE. Then,
  147. by using FS-PRO, you can fully document the newly saved .MOD
  148. file. Select item #2 from the MAIN FS-PRO MENU and a window will
  149. appear with your library of MODE files. Position the "high-lite"
  150. bar over your new .MOD file and we will create a small .ADV file
  151. to store our own MODE data. Then all you have to do is add your
  152. own personal COMMENTS and you can then "Fly" the scenerio right
  153. from the FS-PRO "Environs" MENU. The next time you look into your
  154. ADVENTURE Library (MAIN MENU #1), the .ADV or, ADVENTURE file
  155. will be there, all ready-to-fly. Just tag the one you want and
  156. "go-flyin'."
