README.1ST
FS-PRO Series 7 - December 1988 - LINX BBS (713) 440-7364
=========================================================
IMPORTANT STUFF!
DO NOT JUST UNARC TO A SINGLE DIRECTORY. FS-PRO
REQUIRES SPECIAL INSTALLATION WITH MULTIPLE
SUB-DIRECTORIES. - Use the AUTO-INSTALL program.
1. If you did not get 3 archives...
FSPRO7A.ARC - Unarc to FLOP labeled #1 / INSTALL
FSPRO7B.ARC - Unarc to FLOP labeled #2
FSPRO7C.ARC - Unarc to FLOP labeled #3
...then FS-PRO can not be properly installed.
2. You MUST install from a floppy in drive A to any logical
fixed drive C,D,E,F,G.
3. You MUST use the INSTALL program FSPINS.EXE or the
INSTALL.BAT file.
4. Better READ the DOCS for proper diskette preparation.
Because, you MUST un-arc the 3 archives to 3 separate floppy
disks (formatted to your system DOS, of course).
5. If you have previously installed FS-PRO series 6, then
you will NOT have to use the install program again. Simply
COPY over existing files in the FSP system directory. All
other installations require FSPINS.EXE and the archives with
DATA - AIRPORTS.ARC and MODPAK1.ARC.
6. FS-PRO uses several different DOS file EXTENSIONS. Files
must be in their proper directories. READ the DOCS!
7. Now...please READ the DOCS! for a hassle-free
installation.
8. The latest versions are available on LINX BBS, so
(shudder the thought) if there are CRITTERS to be fixed you
can always DL the current stuff. See DIRECTORY #6 on-line.
9. All previous versions are considered BETA and this does
not mean that things will NOT change in the future. We are
always looking for new goodies to include in FS-PRO.
I sure hope you enjoy the files. Please feel free to pass
around on the boards. But, please DO NOT alter the archives.
The INSTALL program MUST find the proper EXECUTABLE files
and OVERLAYS on each specific diskette in the 3 disk series.
So, when they are unarced to the floppies, the proper files
get written to the user's installation diskettes. A list of
the proper files is included in the DOCS and on-screen HELP
in the INSTALL program.
