README.1 This is the README file from DISK 1 of a 2 disk set.
This is a short text file that describes FLODRAW, lists the files on DISK
1, and tells you how to use the 10 minute tutorial.
FLODRAW is a 'what-you-see-is-what-you-get' graphics editor that produces
black and white full page diagrams on an IBM PC or compatible computer.
FLODRAW has been designed to handle symbols quickly and easily. It is ideal
for documents such as flocharts, organization charts, system diagrams, and
other symbol oriented documents. FLODRAW is keyboard controlled only.
FLODRAW combines text and graphics on the document. The program is
equipped with basic graphics editing for lines and circles, in addition to
pixel editing. Automatic generation of lines and arrows supports diagrams like
flocharts.
FLODRAW comes with symbol libraries for flow charts, HIPO charts, and
electric diagrams. You can design your own symbols, save them, and combine
them into new libraries, or add them to existing libraries.
FLODRAW documents can be saved, printed, and re-edited. All FLODRAW
document files are condensed to take up a minimum amount of space on your disk.
FLODRAW supports three sizes of documents.
1. Standard 8.5 x 11
2. Sideways 8.5 x 11
3. Big 11 x 16 (printed on two 8.5 x 11)
FLODRAW requires:
- An IBM PC, XT, AT, or close compatible.
- 320k of memory.
- A color graphics adapter with either a color or black and
white monitor. FLODRAW does not support the EGA.
- DOS 2.0 or later.
- EPSON MX or FX printer. The FX is recommended for
speed.
Files included on DISK 1:
FLODRAW.EXE is the FLODRAW program.
SYMBOL.LIB is the default FLODRAW symbol library. It is
distributed as a copy of the FLOCHART library.
DEMO is the document used as a FLODRAW tutorial.
README.1 is what you're reading.
Please take the 10 minute tutorial before trying FLODRAW. Although I've
tried to make the program as intuitive as possible, you will need some guidance
on your first trip into FLODRAW. The tutorial was designed to show you how to
use most of the features in 10 minutes or less. After the tutorial, you'll be
able to try FLODRAW on your own.
Taking the tutorial is easy.
1. Put this disk (DISK 1) in drive A.
2. At the A> prompt, type FLODRAW DEMO and press carriage return.
3. Follow the instructions on DEMO.
