  6. INTRODUCTION

  8. Sarah-WARE allows the user to interactively select colors and designs
  9. which fill the screen in an animated way.  Infants quickly become
  10. fascinated by the quickly changing bright pictures.  Infants as young
  11. as three months old will learn to press the keys to change the design.
  12. By five months, two fisted banging begins - but can be controlled by
  13. parents encouragement.  By nine months the baby will have learned that
  14. certain function keys play music and have favorite letter keys.

  16. Sarah-WARE has provides many educational opportunities for your baby.  While
  17. there are many software packages for children ages 3 or 4, Sarah-WARE is the
  18. first and only software for infants and toddlers.  Your baby will quickly
  19. learn the "cause and effect" relationship of pressing keys on the keyboard to
  20. change the display or control music.  Your child will learn that he or she can
  21. control the computer.  This software develops memory skills, since your child
  22. will want to repeat certain actions.  It's fun and entertaining, and requires
  23. interaction with parents.  Using this software will lay an excellent
  24. foundation for your child's future work with computers.  As your child learns
  25. to enjoy the rewards of using a computer, he or she will develop an
  26. understanding of why YOU might want to use a computer, and begin to be more
  27. patient when your time is occupied at the PC.

  37. The distribution includes only one executable program (SARAH.EXE) and this
  38. text file explaining its use (SARAH.TXT).  Periodically, new versions will be
  39. available on the bulliten board.  The software requires an IBM PC , XT, AT,
  40. 386, 486 or complatible, or clone, and uses either EGA or CGA graphics.

  42. DIRECTIONS:

  44. Press any key on keyboard to interactively run the program. Colorful designs,
  45. patterns and animation fill the screen. Hold your baby in your lap and let
  46. your baby explore the keyboard.  Circles, triangles, flowers, and more will be
  47. randomly drawn on the screen.  Pressing function keys 6-10 control the
  48. background classical music.
