WEDDING ORGANIZER
v. 1.0
By Chris Irwin
PROGRAM FEATURES:
* COMPREHENSIVE INVITATION MANAGER
* BUDGETING SPREADSHEET
* TO-DO LIST
* SEX LESSON
* ALL COMPLETELY MENU-DRIVEN
WARRANTY:
Wedding Organizer is distributed on an "AS IS" basis without
warranty, expressed or implied. Considerable testing of the
program has been done, but the user assumes full risk as to the
results of using this program. Any liability of the author will
be limited exclusively to product replacement. In no event shall
the author be liable for any consequential damages arising from
the use, or inability to use this program.
The INVITATION MANAGER Automatically:
* Alphabetizes guest lists
* Tallies RSVP's
* Tracks gifts and thank you's
* Sorts and prints guest lists
(Plus MANY MORE features)
The BUDGETING SPREADSHEET Lets You:
* Create a budget, with up to 45 expense categories
* Compare actual costs vs. budget
* Keep track of who paid what
* Keep track of vendor contracts and what needs to be paid
* Easily add and change category names to suit your needs
The TO-DO LIST:
* Preset with all standard wedding tasks
* Edit, add and delete tasks
* Print lists of your tasks
* Change your wedding date without making a mess of your
to-do tasks
The SEX MANUAL Lets You:
* Learn everything you ever wanted to know about the birds and
the bees, more or less
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
* 512K or more
* All monitor types (mono, CGA, EGA and VGA) are supported
* A hard drive is recommended. This program will run from
a 360K single floppy drive, but if you will be entering
more than 300 invitations, you will definitely need a
larger storage drive.
INSTRUCTIONS:
At the DOS prompt, type WEDDING and press your ENTER key.
The entire program uses menus and help screens that make it
easy to know what you are doing. I programmed it that way so
that you don't have to keep referring to a instruction file.
P.S. Don't forget to back up (make copies) of this program
and ALL of its ancillary files on a daily basis. If your hard
drive crashes, you'll be mighty glad you had all of your
information safely copied, believe me.
DISTRIBUTION:
You may freely copy this program to friends and bulletin boards
so long as at least six files (WEDDING.BUD, WEDDING.EXE,
WEDDING.DOC, WEDDING.TDO, WEDDING.TNX and WEDDING.QTE) are
included unmodified.
Since the files, WEDDING.BUD and WEDDING.TDO and WEDDING.NDX
store user-inputted data, they will change with use. To check
this, when at the DOS prompt, type DIR and make sure their
creation dates all say 04-12-90 (for version 1.0). If they
don't all show that date, then the Wedding Organizer program
has been used before and probably doesn't have all of the
important preset information (list of to-do tasks and budget
categories) that are on a virgin copy of the program.
If this is the case, I would suggest that you go ahead and
try the program anyway. If you like what you see, then send
in your registration fee immediately and I will mail you a
virgin copy of the program. Do this before you start entering
any data that you will want to use for your wedding.
HOW TO PAY:
Please mail your check for $20 to:
Chris Irwin
P.O. Box 4295
La Mesa, CA 92044
Registered users will be mailed a disk with the latest version
of Wedding Organizer.
LICENSE:
Wedding Organizer is a copyrighted software that is being
distributed as shareware. It is NOT in the public domain.
By using or distributing this package, you agree to the condi-
tions presented herein. If you find it useful, you are request-
ed to pay a registration fee of $20. You are granted a limited
license, valid for seven days, to use this package for evalu-
ation purposes. If you continue to use this package, you must
pay the registration fee.
DEDICATIONS:
First of all, to my own new bride, Kathy, thank you for enduring
the past six or seven months of being a "computer widow" while
I sat fidgeting and fretting in front of my computer.
Second, a tip of my hat to the folks at Microsoft for creating
QuickBasic 4.5, the language I wrote the program in.
Third, my unending gratitude to Crescent Software, who wrote
QuickPak Professional, used extensively throughout Wedding
Organizer. Their set of software tools for QuickBasic program-
mers is like a dream come true.
The last thank you goes to you, the user. Your support of the
shareware concept will justify the hundreds of hours I spent
(and continue to spend) working on this program. You can also
help me spread this program across the U.S. (and perhaps beyond).
Please make copies for your friends who are getting married,
and if you have a modem, upload it to your favorite bulletin
boards.
