  10.        This software package is SHAREWARE. This means an author or 
  11.        programmer has prepared software which you are free to copy and
  12.        share with others, but the author requests a REGISTRATION FEE 
  13.        for you to continue LEGAL use and receive additional benefits. If 
  14.        you received this software from a shareware vendor or computer club 
  15.        who charged $3 or $4 you have only paid a DISTRIBUTION or HANDLING 
  16.        FEE to produce an EVALUTION disk of which NO PORTION goes to the 
  17.        author of the software. You are encouraged to evaluate and use 
  18.        the software and, if found useful, pay the final REGISTRATION FEE 
  19.        to the author of the software to become a legally registered user 
  20.        and receive further benefits specified below. Also note the 
  21.        following key restriction:

  23.        Unregistered users may examine, search and evaluate the main
  24.        mailing list but may NOT use it for postal mailings due to decoy 
  25.        addresses and other methods used to track NON-REGISTERED USERS.

  27.        The registration fee payable to the author is $25 which brings 
  28.        by return mail the UPDATED mailing list database, updates to the 
  29.        newsletter, registration number and permission to use the 
  30.        mailing list for postal and direct market mailings. An evaluation 
  31.        UNREGISTERED COPY of SMS can be obtained from the author for $10. 
  32.        Paying the remaining $15 to the author for a total of $25 in 
  33.        author payments registers an evaluation copy of SMS. $90 yearly 
  34.        subscription provides four quarterly issues of SMS at a savings 
  35.        of $10 per year over the individual issue price.

  38.        for incorrect addresses/returned mail. Reimbursement claim form 
  39.        MUST first be validated to honor request for reimbursement.

  85.        PRESTAMPED disk mailer with your address and sample of your 
  86.        program (so I know you are a shareware author). I will put SMS on 
  87.        the two blank disks. You will receive an UNREGISTERED, latest 
  88.        copy of SMS. One poverty option per author per lifetime! Register 
  89.        when you can afford to. If you forget the mailer, stamps, sample 
  90.        of your program or blank diskettes: NO SMS! I expect you to 
  91.        EVENTUALLY register the copy which I send you. Consider it a 
  92.        loan on your end and an investment on my end. Remember I was 
  93.        kind to you when you write your last will and testament. <grin>

  114.        EXPLANATION OF THIS FORM: 
  115.  
  116.        I frequently remove and update undeliverable addresses from the 
  117.        mailing list database. One way I do this ON A RANDOM SPOT CHECK 
  118.        BASIS is to reimburse shareware authors for mail which is 
  119.        returned as undeliverable. This helps keep the database addresses 
  120.        correct and reimburses registered users for wasted postage. 
  121.  
  122.        Here is how it works. When I receive your registration form, 
  123.        registration fee and the claim form which appears above, I will 
  124.        make a decision ON A RANDOM SPOT CHECK BASIS whether to validate 
  125.        this claim form and return it to you (you remain a registered 
  126.        user, of course.) In other words, Seattle Scientific 
  127.        Photography, the author of this software, MAY OR MAY NOT, AT OUR 
  128.        EXCLUSIVE OPTION validate the claim form and return it to you.

  130.        The reason why I do not validate every claim form is that I need 
  131.        only SPOT CHECKS of mailing list accuracy NOT mailing address 
  132.        corrections from EVERY user of the the mailing list database. It 
  133.        would make little sense to have 500 registered users of this 
  134.        software all reporting the same two bad addresses when four or 
  135.        five people could reliably and affordably provide the same job.

  137.        TERMS: 
  138.  
  139.        If you mail Seattle Scientific Photgraphy the ORIGINAL envelope 
  140.        face with attached mailing label and US postal "address 
  141.        undeliverable" stamp for any undeliverable envelopes or disk 
  142.        mailers returned to you whose original destination address was 
  143.        derived from the $hareware Marketing $ystem, I will pay to you 
  144.        50 cents per undeliverable item. I only do this with a FEW 
  145.        shareware authors on a random spot check basis. This offer is 
  146.        valid for only 90 days from validation date on the claim form. 
  147.        The claim form must accompany request for reimbursement. You 
  148.        must be a shareware author. The original claim form must be 
  149.        returned with undeliverable proofs (faces of envelopes or disk 
  150.        mailers.) Limited only to paid/registered users. The form must 
  151.        have OFFICIAL VALIDATION and date and be returned to us with your 
  152.        claim for reimbursement. If a mailing address in the database 
  153.        includes the name of a person in addition to company 
  154.        name/computer club name, you must use the person's name AND 
  155.        company name/club name on the face of labels you mail. Limit of 
  156.        one claim per user per year.
