---------------------------------------------------------------------------
What new features are present in version 1.20
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Several major enhancements have been made to SupremeSched version
1.20. Some are mere cosmetic changes, while others offer new features.
1) First and foremost, SupremeSched's Automatic Scheduling Feature (ASF)
now has two new promised abilities:
a) Employees can now be scheduled in time "blocks". An employee
can now be scheduled for several different jobs for any given
day. Load in the file BLOCK.LOC and run the ASF to see the effect
of this new feature.
Previously the ASF would mark an employee as "done" for the
entire day once the employee had been scheduled for any one job.
b) Part time scheduling is now possible as well! Should the ASF
be unable to schedule an employee for the entire time period for a
given job, it will now attempt to break the job up amongst several
different employees, so that the job will be completely filled.
Load in the file PT.LOC and run the ASF to see the effect of this
new feature.
There are a few limitations with this feature, since the program
has to make a few assumptions in order for this to work correctly.
Feel free to contact us for further information on this matter.
2) The verification feature has been made more robust in order to
accommodate the new block scheduling and part time scheduling abilities of
the ASF. This causes the program to be even more critical of your
schedule.
In addition, one may now press <Alt-X> in order to terminate the
schedule verification error reporting at any given time.
3) You may now schedule for more than a week at a time. In reality this
was always possible, but the program now adds explicit support for this.
By pressing <Alt-N> or <Alt-P> in the Schedule View Screen, either the
next week will be loaded in, or the previous week, respectively. All these
"weeks" are really just different location files, with an added
designation.
In addition, you may now also clear any one job in the Schedule View
Screen, by pressing <Alt-C>. This reset any all days to "Off", erase
the Job number and Employee Code.
4) In the Employee View Screen, you may now press <Alt-S> and <Alt-P> to
Sort or Print the employee database, respectively. In addition, <Alt-X>
will now automatically exit the program.
5) Four new options have been added as well:
a) You may now "Import" any location file. This will overwrite the
current location.
b) You may now "Delete" any location file on the disk.
c) There is now a DOS Shell option, that will compress the memory
space the program takes, to less that .8K under most circumstances.
This option is accessible at any point within the program by
pressing <F9>.
d) A new program information option, that reports on the size of
your databases, etc.
6) Several cosmetic screen changes have been made. These include:
a) You now have the ability to change the screen display height
on EGA/VGA adapters. These heights include 21,25,28,43,50 line
display modes.
b) All windows are "moveable". That is, you may change the position
of these windows at any point you wish.
7) The program is now network aware, and will run on several popular
networks. Review the file, NETWORK.DOC for further information
This is by no means a complete list of the new features in SupremeSched.
