F FThis option will allow you to print a number of records to Feither the printer, or to a print file. You can select Feither to print All, the Tagged, or even the current record. F FNB. You can not create a print file for just one record. F F F FSort. F FFrom this option you can sort the database using a 1 or 2 Ffield sort. You can select which records to sort by, and in Feither accending, or decending order. F F F F F FSearch. F FThe Search option will allow you to perform a string search Fon a particular field of the database. If any of the records Fmatch the search string, or contain the search string, then Fthat record is tagged. F F F F FExport. F FThis option will allow you to save part, or all of the Fdatabase in a format which other programs can use. EG: You Fcould export a number of records to a PC File3 format for Fuse with PC TYPE+ II, for a mail merge. And of course there Fare lots of other applications for this option. F F F FBackup Database. F FThis option will let you save the database to disc during a Fsession. This can be usful if you are making modifications Fto the database. F FYou should always make backup copies of the database incase Fof power cuts etc. F F FConfiguration. F FThis option will display a different screen, from which you Fcan modify the default settings. You will be able to change Fthe name of the database, the path where the database is Fsaved, the starting format to display, and if to display the Fprogram in color or mono. F FOnce the setting have been maed, they can be saved to disc, For they can be aaborted, and the old settings will be used. FQuit. F FThis option will allow you to exit back to MS DOS, and the FC:\> prompt. F FYou will be asked if you want to quit, and if so, you will Fbe returned to the C:> prompt. F FYou will also be asked if you wish to backup the database. FIf so the database will be saved first. Edit Menu. FAdd Record : Create, enter the information, and store a new F record in the database. FModify Record : Modify the current record. FDelete Record : Delete All/Tagged/Current record. FTag Record : Tag All/Current Record(s). FUnTag Record : UnTag All/Current Record(s). F F F F FPrint Records. F FSelect which records you wish to print by selecting one of Fthe options. If you select ALL Records, or Tagged Records, Fyou will then be asked if you wish to print to the printer, For a file. F FIf you select so print to a file, you will be asked for a Ffilename. Once this has been entered, the file will be Fcreated. FDelete Records. F FSelect the records you wish to delete. You can delete ALL, Fthe Tagged of the current record. The total number of Frecords in the database can be seen on the top line of the Fscreen. F FNB. You can only recover deleted records by re-loading the Fdatabase. If you have saved the database after you have Fdeleted a number of records, they can not be recovered. FTag Records. F FThis option will Tag either the current record, or all the Frecords in the database. The total number of Tagged records Fcan be seen on the top line of the screen. F F F F F FUnTag Records. F FThis option will UnTag either the current record, of all the Frecords in the database. The total number of Tagged records Fcan be seen on the top line of the screen. F F F F F FSort Field 1. F FIf this option is selected, then you will be asked to select Finformation about the first sort field. You will be asked to Fselect the field to sort by, and the order in which to sort Fthe database. (Either Accending or Decending.) You can also Fselect the Reset option to use the default values. F F F FSort Field 2. F FIf this option is selected, you can select which field to Fuse as the second sort field, and the order in which to make Fthe sort for the second field. And again you have the Reset Foption to select the default values. F FThere is also a NONE field which can be selected. This can Fbe used if only a single field sort is required. F FSort Database. F FThis option will sort the database according to the Finformation selected for the sort fields. Once you hear a FBEEP, you can escape from the Sort Menu by pressing ESC, and Fthe sorted database will be displayed from the first record. F F F F FSort Field 1 : Field Selection. F FSelect which field you wish to use as the first sort field. F F F F F F F FSort Field 1 : Order. F FSelect the order in which you wish the database to be Fsorted. That is, Accending = A to Z. If any matches are found, then that Frecord is tagged. F F F F F FSearch Field Input. F FFor the search routine to work, it requires to know which Ffield to search. You can select any field to search. F F F F F F FExport Data. F FYou can select which records you wish to export to a file. FYou have the choice of selecting All the records in the Fdatabase or only the tagged records. F F F F F FExport File Format. F FThis option allows you to select the format of the export Ffile. It can either be (i) ASCII C, (ii) ASCII L, or (iii) FPCFILE+3.0 F FWhen you select the Export Data option, the records will be Fwritten in the selected file format. F F FDo Export. F FThis option will first ask you for a filename for the export Fdata. Once entered, the data selected will be saved to the Ffile you have specified. F FIf you have selected the PC FILE+3 format, you only have to Fenter the file path, and filename, Not the file extension. F F FExport Data. F FYou can select which records you wish to export to a file. FYou have the choice of selecting All the records in the Fdatabase or only the tagged records. F F F F F FExport Format : ASCII C F FThis file format will save each record on a new line, and Feach field is sepereted by a comma. Each line is of a fixed Flength, and any blank spaces in the fields are spaced out Fwith a space [CHR(32)] F F F F FExport Format : ASCII L F FThis file format each field of a record is on a new line, Fand each record is separated by a blank line. F FFrom this screen you can move the high light bar up and down Fusing the arrow keys, PGUP, PGDW, Home, and End keys, or the Fmouse. You can change the format of display by using the Fleft and right arrow keys. You can also use the function Fkeys, which are listed near the bottom of the screen. F F F FEdit. F FBecause there are no records in the database, you can only Fuse the Add Record option. F F F F F F FAdd / Modify Record. F FHere you can enter, or modify the text in a record using the Fmain keyboard. You can use the arrow keys to move from one Ffield to another. F FF10 will store the record in memory. ESC will abort the Fentry. ALT D will erase all the fields in the record, and FALT E will erase the currently high lighted field. F FConfiguration Window. F FIn this window, you can modify the configuration Finformation. By using the arrow keys, you can move from one Ffield to another. You can use the main keyboard for the Fpath name, and the filename. F FTo change the Color/Mono setting, or the Format, just press Fthe Return key to cycle through the options avaible. F
