LISTS MANAGER vs 6.25 1989
{shareware version}

Thanks for your interest in The LISTS MANAGER. I am not a big company
like most of the places you probably order software from; I am just an
individual who enjoys programming useful software in his spare time.
Lists Manager has been around for 4 years in various forms. This edition
is by far the most encompassing lists management program available. Not
only can you manage name lists but you can print any type of labels for
general mailing but also various shipping labels and index cards. The
letters section has been expanded to allow maintaining of form letters
and memos. Print a mailmerge letter to an entire list or choose one name
at a time to print the letter to. There are many other features, check
out each menu and I believe you will be pleased with the features.
This limited file capacity version of LISTS MANAGER vs 6.25 is a share-
ware product, which means you are free to give it to whomever you want
and they are only obligated to pay for it after they try it out and
decide they wish to keep using it. Please feel free to make copies of
this shareware version of the LISTS MANAGER. An unrestricted version
of LISTS MANAGER vs 6.25 is available by sending $20 ($40 for business
use) to me at the above address. Please indicate 3.5" or 5.25" disk
format. You will recieve a registered copy of the LISTS MANAGER that
includes an on disk users manual.
THE REGISTERED VERSION IS NOT SHAREWARE, PLEASE !
I hope you enjoy the LISTS MANAGER
ABOUT SHAREWARE...
Shareware (also known as user supported software and other names) is a
concept not understood by everyone. The authors of Shareware retain all
rights to the software under the copyright laws while still allowing
free distribution. This gives the user the chance to freely obtain and
try out software to see if it fits his needs. Shareware should not be
confused with Public Domain software even though they are often obtained
from the same sources.
If you continue to use Shareware after trying it out, you are expected
to register your use with the author and pay a registration fee. What
you get in return depends on the author, but may include a printed
manual, free updates, telephone support, etc. Only by paying for the
Shareware you use do you enable the Shareware author to continue to
support his software and create new programs. Considering that the
Shareware registration fees are almost always far less than the purchase
price of comparable commercial software it's obvious that Shareware is a
good deal for everyone.
There are real advantages to you in the Shareware system. You get to
try out software to make sure it is compatible with your hardware and
that it fits your needs before you "buy" it with your registration.
The author saves the expense of advertising, packaging and distribution
and passes the savings on to you. Plus, most Shareware authors are
much more accessible than commercial software sources so that your
questions and suggestions are much more likely to be responded to.
Thank you for your support,
Jerry
NOTE: This program uses dBASE III compatable files and is compiled using
Clipper Summer '87. It require 384k of free RAM to operate and your
CONFIG.SYS file (found in your root directory) must be set to an
enviroment of 'files=20' and 'buffers=20' or you will get a system
error of 'too many files open', poor preformance and other assorted
error statements. See you DOS manual to see how to create or edit
the CONFIG.SYS file. I have included a sample file named CONFIG.SMP
which can be renamed to CONFIG.SYS and copied to your root directory
by this command issued while this master disk is in drive A:
COPY A:CONFIG.SMP C:\CONFIG.SYS
If you are using a floppy based system place your boot disk in drive
B: and issue the following command while the master disk is in A:
COPY A:CONFIG.SMP B:CONFIG.SYS
