PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY BEFORE RUNNING THE PROGRAM:
It is necessary to modify your CONFIG.DB file before viewing
this demo. You must add to the file the following line if it
does not already exist, or edit it if it does:
MVARSIZ = 24
Once you have done this, quit dBASE and restart so the new parameter
will take effect.
At the dot prompt type DO DEMO.
If you have any BIN files loaded when dBASE starts, I suggest you unload
them with a RELEASE MODULE <filename> command.
I have taken every effort to load and release my binary files as I need them,
but dBASE does have a limit on the number of binary files that can be in
memory at any one time (16), and the demo may fail to run if you already have
several loaded when it begins.
Issue a DISPLAY STATUS command to see if you have any binary files loaded.
Since a small but substantial portion of my income is derived from the sale
of Dbase/Clipper utilities, I have 'protected' these binary routines my
hardcoding the parameters inside them werever possible.
For this reason, this demo will run a little bit slower than the actual
version, for I do a lot of loading and unloading during the course of the
demo to stay under dBASE's 16 binary file load limit.
These routines are a subset of those I have developed for Clipper -- a very
successful utility of its own. If you would like to see demos of other
dBASE/Clipper programs I am marketing, send me a floppy in a prepaid mailer.
