ADDITIONAL AVAILABLE SOFTWARE
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
o Three-Dimensional Viewer for Boulder and Planetary K-Indices
This software package is still under development and should be completed
by the end of November, 1991. It will display up to 27 days worth of Boulder
or Planetary K-indices (or 216 K-index values) on-screen in a three-
dimensional format. The software permits you to change the viewing
perspective. It will also sort the data from the most-disturbed days to the
least-disturbed days to let you compare disturbed periods or quiet periods.
These features permit you to determine diurnal variations which occurred in
the data you are analyzing.
In addition, this software will automatically generate high-resolution
GIF images of the three dimensional graphs you view on-screen. GIF image
viewing software (not included) will then permit you to make printouts of the
graphs you produce on either dot matrix or laser printers, etc. The GIF
files may also be freely transmitted to other locations electronically for
use by others.
Other features which are not included here, may be added prior to its
release. This software will require EGA or VGA compatible graphics that
can support a screen resolution of 640 x 480.
For pricing information, consult the file "ORDERS.DOC".

o Major package of Solar Terrestrial Software for Radio Communicators,
Auroral Activity Observers, or those interested in related fields.
Also under development is a software package which will exploit the
database created by the BCAST program to produce regionalized forecasts of
HF Radio Propagation conditions, Auroral Activity, Geomagnetic Activity, etc.
This major software package is intended to be used by the amateur and will
not require any professional knowledge in these fields.
This package will produce graphical maps with HF signal trajectories
showing the position of the the signal in relation to the very influential
geomagnetic field and various zones of activity. In addition, the program
will analyze present (or historic) conditions or let you examine various
scenarios to determine the best signal paths, times, and trajectories to use
to establish radio contacts which may normally not be possible.
The software included in this package will produce estimated graphical
maps of the auroral zone based on observed, historical, or even ficticious
geomagnetic data. It will also graphically illustrate the estimated zones
where visible auroral activity may be observed up to 72 hours into the
future.
The software will also produce a rough map of interplanetary space
between the Earth and the Sun and map the observed disturbed zones and their
estimated proximity to the Earth. It will also analyze major flare data to
determine the potential impacts which may be observed, as well as an
estimated map of the flare-generated disturbance(s) as they propagate outward
from the Sun.
Aside from being an excellent software package to help improve the
success of HF radio communications and auroral activity observations, this
software will be an excellent educational tool to illustrate the importance
of the Sun and its effects here on Earth.
This software is not yet available and may not become available for some
time. It is presently under development.
