BRIEF SUMMARY OF EVENTS
-----------------------
Solar activity was low on 18 September. Region 6832 (N08E02) produced
several C-class subflares during the day. The largest was a class C7.2/SN at
14:12 UT. This region continued to exhibit gradual growth and is maintaining
a moderately complex magnetic configuration.
Two new regions were numbered today: Region 6838 (N10E43) and 6839
(N07E54). These are small and very simple bipolar regions at the present
time.
Region 6832 poses a slight risk for an isolated M-class flare. Most of
the activity from this region should be confined to C-class levels. No major
activity is possible from this region at this time.
Geomagnetic activity was quiet today. A very slight increase in
activity has been noted over the last several hours, although nothing
significant is anticipated. Activity should remain mostly quiet to
unsettled over the next 24 to 72 hours.
HF propagation conditions have been mostly normal over all regions.
Conditions should remain stable over all regions over the next 24 to 72
hours. High latitude signal paths may experience a slight level of
additional instability, although most paths should remain predominantly
stable.
