  1. What's NEW in SRE 0.970
  2.  
  3. 1.  Instantaneous petroleum price fluctuations.  This prevents one user from
  4.     taking advantage of extremely high petroleum prices.  It is also more
  5.     realistic for the game.
  6. 2.  Guerilla Warfare
  7.     Explained in the instructions to the game.
  8. 3.  Several command-line options:
  9.     A.  /ANSI=0
  10.         Forces ANSI off.  Can be used with /LOG and SCORES to produce
  11.         a non-ANSI score file.
  12.     B.  /ANSI=1
  13.         Forces ANSI on.  Can be used with /LOG and SCORES to produce
  14.         an ANSI score file.
  15.     C.  /LOG
  16.         Writes all output to a log file, SRE.LOG.  (In ANSI if ANSI is on).
  17.         You can also use this option to extract the instructions to a file
  18.         with "SRE /LOG": play the game, and view the instructions.  Then
  19.         and edit the SRE.LOG file and copy the instruction part to a
  20.         separate file.
  21.     D.  /BIOS
  22.         Uses the BIOS for output instead of direct-screen writes.  Use
  23.         this for non-compatible computers or multi-tasking systems.
  24.         You can also use this to get rid of snow on CGA systems.
  25.     E.  /NOSPECIALEFFECTS
  26.         Turns off the special effect cursors at Yes/No prompts and at
  27.         pauses.  This greatly reduces the size of the LOG file.  Also,
  28.         some modems have bufferring that continues output even after
  29.         the user has pressed a key.  If so, this option will speed up
  30.         remote game operation.  (Ask users if PAUSE immediately goes
  31.         away when they press a key or if there's a delay; if there is
  32.         a delay, use this option.)
  33.     F.  /LOCAL
  34.         For BBS door files that don't send the right message to SRDOOR
  35.         that the user is local, this option forces LOCAL play.
  36. 4.  Batch file setup inside of SRINSTAL.  You don't have to run two programs
  37.     to install SRE --- just one.

  60.     REGISTER
  61.     Registration of the game.  If you send the registration form in,
  62.     we will send you three code numbers to you that you type in with
  63.     this option.
  64.     REREGISTER
  65.     Registration of the game if it is already registered to someone else.
  66.     BANK
  67.     Setup of the bank:  creates the bank and sets an interest rate.  This is
  68.     available in the registered version only.
  69.     RESET
  70.     Erase all players, and set options.  Options are only available in the
  71.     registered version.
  72.     SCORES
  73.     Displays only the scores.  Either run "SRE SCORES" as a door program
  74.     to allow the scores to be sent to the user directly or create a score
  75.     file with "SRE SCORES /LOG /ANSI=1 /LOCAL" and copy SRE.LOG to another
  76.     file.

  78. NOTE:  To upgrade an old version of SRE, just unzip the ZIP file into
  79.        your SRE directory.  You do not have to reset the game.
