This special Test Drive version of Trip Plan II has been provided to allow you

Although it is provided FREE of charge (other than media & shipping charges)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT IS TRIP PLAN II ?
TP2 is a time and distance program that uses the latitude and longitude of 2
or more locations to calculate the distance between them.
Once the distance is determined, other factors are used to calculate things
such as the direction and the estimated time required to travel that distance.
Pilots and people who do a great deal of traveling will gain the most value
from this program, however almost everyone will find a use for it sooner or
later. For example, it is very helpful in vacation planning for such things as
where to spend the night and what time you will arrive at your destination.
This test drive version performs exactly the same as the paid ($15.00) version.
The difference in the two programs is the number of locations that are allowed
"On Line" at any one time.
The paid version comes with over 4000 locations on line and will allow you to
add as many more as you want or that your computer has room for.
This test drive version only allows 10 locations in the system data files at
any one time. They can be any 10 that you choose, but adding cities after the
the 10th one will cause the last one in the file to be replaced with the new
city.
A better way to get the ones that you want is to use the EDIT feature of the
program and replace cities of your choice.
So that you can test drive this program to any combination of cities that you
want, we have included (from the actual files that come with the paid version)
a text (ASCII) file for each state with the City/Airport name and the Lat/Lon
for that location.
This is the minimum information needed for the program to calculate time,
distance, and cost information. If the Time Zone and the airport Rwy/Approach
information are important to you, then you will need to look it up from some
other source or purchase the program.
So that you can locate the Lat/Lon information quickly, we have divided the
files up by states and sorted the cities alphabetical in each file.
Each file has a file extension of .DAT
Use a word processor program or a VIEW/LIST utility to examine the files to
find the location(s) you want or copy the file to your printer.
For example, to print all of the airports in Iowa, at the DOS prompt type -
[COPY IA.DAT PRN] without the brackets.
To enter the desired locations into the program files, choose Menu Item 2,
then either press <A> to add locations or <E> to edit an existing city.
There is a short USER's GUIDE included with this disk. It requires only 6
pages to print it on your printer however, if you watch for and read the on
screen messages, you should be able to get along pretty well without it.
Enjoy your TEST DRIVE.
