  6. OVERVIEW
  7.  
  8.      TAXTOOL is designed to assist employers with the printing of information
  9. on W-2 and 1099-MISC forms for 1990 taxes.  The program will work with any
  10. dot matrix printer.  TAXTOOL contains a full database interface for Company,
  11. Employee, and Payee information. Database features include add, edit ,delete,
  12. browse and list.  TAXTOOL can be freely copied and distributed.  If you find

  24. GENERAL SETUP
  25.  
  26.       TAXTOOL will work on any IBM PC, XT, AT or compatible using DOS 3.1 or
  27. higher and having at least 640K RAM.  TAXTOOL will print on any dot matrix
  28. printer connected to the computer's parallel port (LPT1).  The program will
  29. run off of a floppy diskette or from a hard disk.  The command "TAXTOOL" will
  30. start the program.  The program will print on standard, one-up, W2 continuous
  31. tax forms and standard, one-up, 1099-MISC continuous tax forms.  These forms
  32. can be purchased from your local office supply store.

  35. DATABASE MANAGEMENT FEATURES
  36.  
  37.      TAXTOOL cannot convert data which is used by other programs such as
  38. dBase IV and WordPerfect.  TAXTOOL contains a complete database interface for
  39. maintaining company, payee and employee information.  Database features
  40. include: Add, Edit, Delete, Search, List, and Browse.  These features are
  41. completely menu driven and easy to use.

  43.      The Employee database uses the employee's social security number to
  44. correctly store employee information.  TAXTOOL prints out the W2 forms in
  45. ascending order of the employee's social security numbers.

  47.      The 1099 payee database uses the Payee's identification number to
  48. correctly store the payee's information.  TAXTOOL prints out the 1099 forms
  49. in ascending order of the payee's identification number.

  51. HOW TO USE TAXTOOL
  52.  
  53.      The run TAXTOOL, type in the word "TAXTOOL" (without the quotes) and
  54. then press ENTER.  TAXTOOL is completely menu driven.  However, if you have
  55. not previously used the program you must enter your company name, address and
  56. other company information before you can get to the main menu of the program. 
  57. Please note that the program allows for the company information to be
  58. modified at any time.  From the main menu a user can maintain company,
  59. employee, and subcontractor information as well as print W2 and 1099 forms.
