  11.      -- Major revision.  A new transaction for cash dividends received has
  12.      been added.  This permits users to track dividends and obtain reports. 
  13.      A number of conforming changes have been made throughout the program. 
  14.      The field for the amount of the dividend is highlighted on the data
  15.      entry screen.  It appears where the PROFIT/LOSS field is for other
  16.      transactions.  The documentation has been revised, and users may want
  17.      to read the details of the new transaction and the new reports.
  18.  
  19.      -- The report menu has been modified.  There are now only three main
  20.      menu entries:  Portfolio Reports, Transaction Reports, and Dividend
  21.      Reports.  Each category has a submenu.  The Dividend Reports are new,
  22.      and there are four different reports:  one screen summary and three
  23.      different printed reports.  No other reports have been added. 
  24.      Dividend transaction only appear in dividend reports and not in
  25.      transaction reports.

  27.      -- Titles for almost all printed reports can now be supplied by the
  28.      user.  Some reports that had titles that were 2-4 lines in length now
  29.      have a one line user-supplied titles.  The amount of data that will
  30.      fit on a page has been adjusted accordingly.

  32.      -- The printing of report titles has been shifted so that it occurs
  33.      later in the report generating process.  This avoids printing of a
  34.      title in the event that printing is aborted early enough in the
  35.      process.  Previously, the title was printed well before any data.

  37.      -- A new delete log function has been added.  It is now possible to
  38.      delete multiple dividend transactions and enter data transactions at
  39.      once.  This may be done for any period for a single stock or for all
  40.      stocks.  This permits outdated dividend transactions or prices to be
  41.      removed easily in one operation.

  43.      -- Log displays for ENTER DATA transactions have been revised so that
  44.      fields not used are not displayed.  DIVIDEND transactions follow a
  45.      similar pattern.

  47.      -- The short log display used to show the cost or basis to four
  48.      decimal places.  The display now shows the cost or basis to two
  49.      decimal places.  This avoids meaningless precision.

  51.      -- After changing a main stock file, you are now left at the select
  52.      stock file screen so that you may select another stock to change
  53.      without going back to the main menu.  This facilitates changing
  54.      several main files at the same time.  To return to the menu from the
  55.      select stock file screen, just hit escape.

  57.      -- A subtle error that permitted duplicate stock symbols in two
  58.      extremely unlikely circumstances (not worth explaining here) has been
  59.      identified and corrected.  No user reported the problem.

  70.      required considerable internal reorganization and revision of all user

  86.      digits, four digits on each side of the decimal point.  This allows
  87.      dividends from $9999. to $0.0001.  WARNING: since the rate is stored
  88.      as a single precision number, it will not be accurate beyond seven
  89.      digits.  If you enter a dividend rate with four digits on each side of
  90.      the decimal point, accuracy will not be precise.  This should not be a
  91.      problem since a dividend rate is not likely to be both in the
  92.      thousands and ten-thousandths.

  94.      -- When entering a stock or a log, hitting the ESCAPE key now aborts
  95.      input even when in the middle of a field.  Before, the ESCAPE key only
  96.      aborted when it was the first key in a field.
  97.  
  98.      -- When printing a complete stock file, the heading on the pages   
  99.      after the first has been changed from a three line heading to a one
  100.      line heading.  The result is to allow room for printing an extra log
  101.      most of the time.
  102.  
  103.      -- The internal line counter for the transaction listing has been    
  104.      modified.  The result is more accurate form feeds, especially on
  105.      listings of stock sales.  Use of form feeds has been sharpened to 
  106.      avoid unnecessary blank lines.

  108.      -- A title has been added to the total line on listings of stock   
  109.      sales.  Totals for proceeds and profit/loss which formerly appeared
  110.      only on stock sale listings now appear on transaction listings too.

  112.      -- The number of the new log entry now appears in the upper left
  113.      corner of the log entry screen.

  116.      -- The screen and print versions of the main stock file now include
  117.      the annual cash dividend (dividend rate times number of shares).  The
  118.      printed version makes room for the number by putting the stock symbol
  119.      on the title line, moving the number of logs in place of the stock
  120.      symbol, and adding the cash dividend.  The print date now appears on
  121.      the left of the title line.

  123.      -- When ordering printing of a complete file for one stock, the
  124.      printing is completed and the list of stocks reappears so that another
  125.      stock can be printed if desired.  You must now hit ESCAPE to return to
  126.      the menu.  Previously, you were returned to the menu directly after
  127.      printing.

  129.      -- The main menu option to select printer now indicates whether the
  130.      current printer is IBM or HP.

  137.      points are now generally aligned vertically, and dollar signs now
  138.      float next to the first digit rather than a space away.  The decimal
  139.      alignment is not changed on complete file printouts.

  141.      -- The dividend rate now shows four numbers to the right of the
  142.      decimal point.

  144.      -- After a new transaction is entered, you may go directly to a  
  145.      display of the main stock file by hitting the ESCAPE key.  This  
  146.      enables you to see the effect of the new transaction on your holdings

  150.      stock file rather than M.

  166.      than one page.  The response is neither immediate nor perfect, but it
  167.      works reasonably well.

  169.      -- When entering the date for a dividend, the program prompts for a
  170.      date in the form MM/DD.  The documentation erroneously asked for this
  171.      date to be in the form MM/YY.  The documentation is now correct.

  174.      -- Version 2.3 failed to handle dates before 1910 properly.  The   
  175.      dates were stored and used correctly internally, but the dates  were
  176.      garbled on displays and printouts.  The original documentation for
  177.      version 2.4 failed to include any explanation of this correction.
