  5. This version (2.1) of PC-Areacode is a minor upgrade/revision of the
  6. program and its data files.  We fixed a couple of bugs and made a few
  7. cosmetic changes; everything else has stayed the same.
  8.    
  9. o  Version 2.0 did not properly identify the states served by the
  10.    areacodes 213, 516, 805 or 806.  This bug has been fixed.
  11.  
  12. o  We fixed a bug in the search algorithm that prevented the program
  13.    from finding some capitalized entries in the database properly. 
  14.    
  15. o  Contrary to the directions in the manual, it was not possible to
  16.    run PC-Areacode in non-TSR mode from another directory.  If you
  17.    tried this, the program usually couldn't find the configuration
  18.    file, even if your PATH statement contained the proper directories.
  19.    This bug has been fixed.
  20.    
  21. o  New large and small datafiles have been prepared for both Texas and
  22.    New Jersey, which are adding areacodes within the next year.  These
  23.    are labelled TX_NEW.DAT, TX_NEW.BIG, NJ_NEW.DAT and NJ_NEW.BIG. 
  24.    When the new areacodes go into effect, simply rename the
  25.    appropriate files to TX.DAT or NJ.DAT to use the revised data.

  27. o  The big data files are now compressed using the newest version of
  28.    PKWARE's ZIP program.  The methodology for uncompressing these
  29.    files is slightly changed.

  31. o  The data files have been updated to correct all mistakes found
  32.    since the last update.  Some additional cities have also been
  33.    added.

  35. Finally, we are working on a new versions of PC-Areacode which will
  36. use just 5 or 10 K of memory.  Registered users will be notified when
  37. this program is available.
