Welcome to COMTRAC, the shareware company tracker. Documentation
in this doc file is sparse since COMTRAC has plenty of on-line help.
Plan on pressing the HELP (F1) key while running COMTRAC.
You have my permission and encouragement to copy this program and
distribute it to bulletin boards and user groups as long as:
o The program and files are not modified in any way
o The name "COMTRC10.ARC" must be used on bulletin boards
If you use COMTRAC on a regular basis, I encourage you to register as
you will enjoy several benefits including: telephone support, printed
documentation, an enhanced version without the delayed introduction
screen, and enhancements when available at a nominal charge. For details
refer to the end of this document.
COMTRAC version 1.0 should contain the following files:

"config.sys" file is, consult your DOS manual or local DOS guru.

"SET BIOS=1" at the DOS prompt before running COMTRAC.

Mail/merge functions - create form letters, rolodex cards, envelopes,
one-up mailing labels with an ASCII text editor or using the ASCII text
facility of your favorite word processor.

connected to a phone handset.

DO's and DONT'S
Be sure to make regular backups of the data files. Currently there
is not a way to repair broken data files. You must restore your
data files if they become corrupt due to a disk error.
If you don't know how to make backups, refer to the BACKUP program in
your DOS documentation.
Do NOT exit COMTRAC by shutting off the power. Please exit the program
"gracefully" by pressing ESC until the 'Exit Menu?' question comes up.
Do NOT modify the help file. If you do, COMTRAC will become confused
when asked for help. Incorrect help is worse than no help at all.
Do have fun with the program. Most questions can be answered by trying
in out on the system.
NOTE FOR CONTACT USERS
For those of you who are curious about what the registered version
of CONTACT 4.0 looks like --- it contains the following:
o 6 month calendar
o Elapsed Phone call timer
o Today's reminder report
o Week's reminder report
o Change the date menu option
o Access to COM3 and COM4
o Various small bug fixes
For those of you who don't know what CONTACT is - you can obtain a copy
of CONTACT version 4.0 off of the bulletin board systems. CONTACT
