Introduction:
-------------
Compu-Cal is a reminder program, that , when set up
correctly, will run every time you boot up your system.
Compu-Cal stands for Computer Calendar, and its purpose is
to display reminders that you have entered. For
COMP-CAL.EXE to run correctly, you must have CCDATES.EXE
which is included in the .ZIP file. CCDATES.EXE is the
program that will enter new reminders.
Set-Up and Directions:
----------------------
Since you are reading this documentation file, I guess
that you have already un-compressed the file CCAL13.ZIP.
(Un-compress all of the files into the same directory, it
doesn't matter what directory that is.) Next you must
edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT so that it will run COMP-CAL.EXE
every time your system boots up.
Now you are ready to enter new reminders. There are two
ways to do this. You can run CCDATES.EXE or you can type
[*] at the Compu-Cal prompt after boot up.
After you run Compu-Cal Date Enterer, you are asked:
Is This The First Time Running Compu-Calendar? (Y/N):
If this is the first time you have set-up Compu-Cal on your
system, then enter 'Y' so that it will create a new
reminder file.(DATES.CC) From now on you will want to
enter 'N' so that the current reminder file is not deleted.
If you happen to enter 'N' and there isn't a reminder file
already created, then you will receive an error. (***
WARNING: Once you have created a reminder file, you can not
answer 'Y' or all of the reminders that you have previously
entered will be deleted.)
Once you have answered the above question, you will
come to the main menu. From this menu you will have the
option to: Create new reminders, View previously entered
reminders, Clean up the current reminder file, or Quit.
<Page 2>
1.> Create New Reminders
--------------------
If you select this option you will be prompted to enter
the date that you want the new reminder to come up ,or
'MENU' if you want to return to the main menu. You must
enter the date for your reminder in the following format:
mm/dd/yyyy. (month/day/year) If you do not enter the date
in that format, you will be informed, and will have to try
again. Next you will be asked for whom is this reminder
for. You can enter any name that is no longer than 10
characters. Then you will be prompted to enter your
reminder for that person which is no longer than 70
characters. If you are entering the same reminder more
than once, you can press [ENTER] instead of entering the
same message twice, so that the previously entered reminder
is fowarded to this reminder.
After you are finished entering the new reminder, you
must confirm your entree. If everything is to your liking
and you enter 'Y' your entree will be save, and you will be
asked to enter another date. Enter as many reminders as
you want, and then return to the main menu. (If you already
have reminders saved and you enter new ones, the old
messages are not deleted, they are still saved.)
2.> View Previously Entered Messages
--------------------------------
If you select this option, all reminders that were
previously entered will be displayed. The display will
stop after seven entries. Push any key to view the next
page. After all reminders have been viewed, you will be
returned to the main menu.
3.> Clean Reminder File
-------------------
This option will clean up the reminder file by deleting
any reminders that are older than the present date. The
date that your system has stored will be displayed and you
must confirm that it is the correct date. If you answer
'N', you will be asked to enter the correct date. Before
the file is actually cleaned you will be asked, one last
time, if you want to clean the reminder file, because once
you run this, any of the reminders that have been deleted
are gone for good. After the disk is cleaned, you will be
returned to the main menu.
4.> Quit
----
Once you are finished editing the reminder file, you can
choose this option to return to DOS.

5.> COMP-CAL.EXE
------------
Comp-Cal is the program that will be run every time you
boot up you system. When this program is run it will first
display any messages that were entered for that day, then
you will be prompted on what to do next. The response that
will most often be used will be to hit the space bar (or
any other key that doesn't have a specific use), which will
end the program and continue on with boot-up. There are a
couple other choices that you have though. You have the
option of viewing upcoming messages. To do this you must
hit [U], and you will then be prompted to choose either:
Messages for the rest of the current month, or messages for
a month that you choose.
Another choice you have is to enter new reminders by
pushing [*]. As already described above, the CCDATES.EXE
file will be run.
If when the Comp-Cal program is run and you notice that
the date is not correct, then you can choose [C] and you
will be able to change the date, and then any messages will
be displayed for that date.
That is the only thing that you need to know about this
program.
That is all that you need to know to run Compu-Cal, and I
hope that you find it useful. If you do, I would
appreciate it if you would let me know. Send me a letter
on telling me what you thought about it. What you liked.
What you didn't. What would you like to see added to it,
or if you would like a different format used. Let me
know!! I would like to hear your response, or your
constructive criticism. Anything!!
Send you mail to:

I am not asking for any money for this program, but if
any is sent, I won't get mad.
If you would like to be informed on any new updates, let
me know also!!
**** Thank You!!! ****
