Welcome to the appointment program.
This program was written to enable you to enter and print lists
of appointments. I found that Sidekick would not do the type of
listing that I required.
Sidekick is a trademark of Borland Industries.
You will find that the APPT program has a bar like menu to operate
the entire program. The menu choices are clearly displayed above
the program logo. This was done to prevent the endless levels of
menus that can exist in a program of this nature.
To choose one of the menu choices just press the number associated
with the choice.
1 Appointment - will pull down a box containing 2 more choices.
1 Add/Edit and appointment. This selection is self explanatory
when you choose this option the program will index the database
and prompt you for a date. If the date is already a part of the
data the previously entered information will be displayed for
you to edit. Otherwise you may enter the new information. You
will be asked if you want to add any more dates. A Y will add
one day to the last date entered and allow new entries. (This
will be extremely handy when entering a week at a time) Also
the Day of the Week will be figured and displayed for you. This
way you'll know if your scheduling yourself to work on a saturday.
2 Delete appointments. You will be prompted for a date to delete
and all dates prior to today will be marked for deletion. This
will enable you to keep the size of your data under control.
After marking the records for deletion they will be displayed
for your review. If there are more than 25 days being deleted
the listing will scroll off of the screen. If you don't want
them deleted answer N to the next question and all will be
unmarked and none deleted.
| *** NOTE If you delete a day in your calendar i.e. tommorrow. You will
not be able to use the ADD/EDIT function to re-enter that date.
2 Print - will pull down a box containing 2 more choices.
1 Print a list (Complete). Prints a list of all available information
in the database ie. Date, day, appointment, type, time of appointment.
2 Print a list (Brief). Prints listing of the Date, day of the week and
the Appointment. The amount of days requested on the report is now
part of the report header.
3 Utilities - a box containing 6 choices.
1 Program version. Self Explainatory
2 Time. Will display a clock on screen. Also good to prevent
screen burn in.
3 Program Configuration. Configure your program and set up data files.
You must configure the program before you use it otherwise errors
will plague an otherwise enjoyable program.
4 Read Program Text. This is an option to read this documentation
without leaving the program.
5 Backup Data. Allows you to copy your data file to a diskette.
v3.90| 6 Create Appt Types. This allows you the user to establish what
types of appointments to track. You should be careful not to
erase the brackets in the fields when entering or if they are
not important to you, you can type over them allowing for 2
additional spaces for a total of 12. These entries will be
displayed whenever Adding or Editing an appointment.
4 DOS Shell - allows you to exit to DOS and return without quiting the
program. Just remember to type EXIT to return to the Appointment
program.
9 Quit - Leave the program, but come again real soon.
