ASR-DOS 2.4M-64
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$102.00
REQUIRES MONITOR TSR for some of its features.
ASR-DOS is the child of many years of working with TBBS systems remotely,
and the frustrations that have been generated when the only way to perform an
operation was to take the system down and spend hours walking someone on site
through the DOS processes.
This product was designed to allow the TBBS system to do what it does best,
stay online! There have been so many times that I have had to take my system
down when all of my lines were full, just to make a simple change to a .ctl
file or to edit a pdir.
This system gives you the ability to completely navigate and run your BBS
without ever leaving the DOS prompt. After just a few hours of working in
this environment, you'll find your systems menus too cumbersome and
restrictive and realize that ASR-DOS is a partner in running a TBBS System.
It is also very time consuming when you need to allow a user or co-sysop the
ability to do certain system functions and have to provide that access
through SDL and menus. With ASR-DOS, you can allow full or limited access to
every feature and function of ASR-DOS. This means that you can allow access
to DOS without worrying that maybe you gave up to much control.
ASR-DOS contains a number of the most unique one of a kind features such as
the ability to MONITOR any line in realtime using any GRAPHICAL display
format, live remote SYSOP CHAT, complete Modem Control of any modem connected
to your system, ZIP, UNZIP, FAXING, a 100% CONSOLE emulation and control
system, are just a few of its 93 commands.
With over a dozen new technologies incorporated for this single project,
ASR-DOS can now deliever the power required to run a TBBS System 100%
remotely, or allow limited access to co-sysops. But, this is not just an
application for remote use. With 93 commands, it becomes an unbelievably
power online tool that can allow you to completely ignore the use of your
normal SDL menus and offline operations. With its one of a kind line
monitoring and control features, you will be able for the first time to
monitor lines using RIP or Interchange lines that are connected to another
system. The line monitoring control will even allow you to take over a users
keyboard or perform a sysop chat on a line, even if they are connected to
another system via Interchange! As last minute addition to ASR-DOS even lets
you monitor Ultrachat Link connections.
ASR-DOS comes with an extremely detailed set of documentation as well as an
online context sensitive help system to clarify the syntax and use of its
commands.

SYSMON 6.2M-64 TSR
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$89.00
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2 and ASR MONITOR TSR
SYSMON is a realtime remote sysops control system. Designed to look and work
just like the TBBS 2.2 console, sysmon can be configured to handle up to 65
lines including the console. Sysmon can also be used by your regular callers
as a system overview and alarm watch system. Many features including
complete system usage logging and duplicate user logging and drop. Version
4.1 now supports EGA43 line mode to display all 65 lines on screen at once.
Now SYSMON interfaces PROFMAN, SUPER CHAT and GOTOCMD. The SUPER CHAT
interface allows sysmon to completely monitor chat activities.
The Version 6.2 is almost and entire rewrite of the previous versions of
SYSMON. This version is the VERY 1st TDBS application that interacts with an
external TSR that was designed to work as a hosting system to TDBS
applications. This provides complete information about TBBS and complete
keyboard control over the TBBS Console. Version 6.1 now has a 100% TBBS
console display which includes realtime meters, stats and control over the
console keyboard and remote line monitoring and contorl.
All of this looks and feels identical to the REAL TBBS console and affords
the exact same control as if you were onsite with the console. You may even
configure sysmon to allow your regular users access to the console display
BUT without allowing them use of the keyboard control or line monitoring
features.
In addition to the exact duplication of the console display, SYSMON has some
enhancements over the TBBS Console, such as, full 32 and 64 line simultaneous
display, panel caroseling, toggle between the Console's MENU/FUNC display and
SYSMON's verbose LOCATION display. Also, statistics such as the number of
calls since midnight, number of lines in use and a toggle between system
totals in SECONDS to system totals in PERCENTAGES.
SYSMON 6.2 can also remotely monitor and sysop chat lines in any graphical
interface including RIP.

MONITOR 2.0 TSR
Programmer: Christian Huygen
Designer: Alan McNamee
Company: Professional Data Systems
Company: ASR
$75.00
REQUIRES TDBS APPLICATIONS
The commercial TDBS application programming arena has become very
sophisticated from it's humble beginnings. This industry boasts some of the
most elabroate and complex online programming being used in the BBS 3rd party
industry. Because of the richness of the TDBS programming langauge and the
flexibility of the TBBS environment, TBBS systems have had the ability to be
the most unique and powerful systems around and when enhanced by the numerous
3rd party TDBS applications that are available today, these systems have
become almost unbeatable!
But still, because of the limitations that are been imposed in the TDBS
programming language, some online applications have been impossible to
create. With the talent that is now involved in the TDBS programming
industry, many new and unique applications could be created if there where
only more tools available to the TDBS programmer. This is where we saw the
need for a program like MONITOR. MONITOR pulls the plug on the shield that
TBBS puts before TDBS programmers. MONITOR can be used to allow a TDBS
program to control TBBS rather than TBBS controlling the program. This opens
many doors to creative design thought but also requires alot of consideration
for the interaction with TBBS.
SYSMON 6.1 and ASR-DOS 1.0 are the first TDBS application that takes
advantage of this programming interface to an external TSR. By use of the
exchange interface, Sysmon creates an amazingly accurate remote TBBS Console
that allows you to virtually do anything that you could do from the REAL TBBS
Console.

U-SYSOP v1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$75.00
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2
For along time, many sysops have been running multiple BBS' from the
same system with TBBS. Many Sysops even host systems for other people
and companies using their systems. The concept of U-SYSOP is the same
except for one dramatic difference, it allows the user to create their
own system without any of your assistance! This is not just some simple
watered down creation, but as capable and robust as any TBBS system
can be. The entire process is automated even down to the SDL compiling
online. This will now allow a SYSOP to invite their entire userbase
to create their OWN systems and be the SYSOP of that system and to invite
their friends use their very own customized BBS.
Yes, I did say SDL compiling earlier. U-SYSOP creates REAL TBBS .CTL
files that can contain ANY type and optdata that could be used on
the REAL host system. Don't be alarmed by this, YOU provide the
resources that the user is allowed to select from. These resources can
be any TBBS TYPE & OPTDATA or existing resources that you have
provided on your host system. This means that any GAME or APPLICATION
that you have can be incorporated into a U-SYSOP compiled system.
Users also don't create a normal .SDL file, its much simplier than that.
The format of their SDL is in the form of KEY COMMAND. i.e.
KEY=L COMMAND=LEGENDS
KEY=C COMMAND=OPEN FORUM
KEY=F COMMAND=FILE AREA
The information that is required to compile the .SDL to a .CTL file for
each command name is provided by YOU in the form of TYPE and OPTDATA.
Example:
:LEGENDS:
;Allows access to your users to LEGENDS!
TYPE 200
OPTDATA C:\LEGENDS\LEGENDS /Q
:OPEN FORUM:
;This will give you and your callers your very own CHAT AREA
TYPE 203
OPTDATA /P1:"TBBS" /P2:%M4% /E:5,%M2%
:FILE AREA:
;This will give you and your callers your very own FILE AREA
TYPE 46
OPTDATA C:\US\FILES\%M1%\%M1% /W /TL /D /F /U(/X/F)
With these resources and the ANSI menu that is uploaded by the user, they
could create a system that may even rival your own in popularity or
a company or user group could create and maintain their own system for
their own purposes. U-SYSOP even provides for SYSOP only access to features
for the "owner" of a user created system based on the NAME of the creator
of the system.
U-SYSOP has a highly interactive user interface for access and system
generation. This interface was designed to look exactly like the TELIX
Dialing Directory with vertical and horizontal light bar menu selections.
There has never been anything like U-SYSOP ever created before for any
BBS software and it is certain to amaze your users.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
The SERIAL CONNECTION v1.1
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$75.00
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2 AND ASR'S MONITOR TSR
The SERIAL CONNECTION (TSC) is a MODEM 2 MODEM connection interface that
allows users to solicate other users on a TBBS system for any type of
modem 2 modem connection process. This is most commonly used for modem
to modem games such as DOOM and BATTLE CHESS and F16 FALCON.
The two major problems with modem to modem connections are:
1. Connections always have to be at the SAME baud rate. This is
sometimes impossible between two users.
2. Finding someone to connect with when YOU want to play.
TSC addresses both of these problems. Its primary job is to allow you
to find someone to connect with. This allows you to request a game
play and then return to the system and do other things until someone
wishes to join you. TSC also handles the differences in baud rate. This
means that one user can be logged on at 28,800bps and another user at
2400bps and both callers can still connect and play the same game.
TSC is also remarkable in its performance impact on the TBBS system.
Although both players of a game may be transmitting data at the modems full
capacity, this still has less impact to the TBBS system than a user who
would be downloading files at the same baud rate.

MAGIC STAT v2.0
Programmer: Elmar Denkmann
Company: ASR
$69.00
REQUIRES TBBS DAYFILE OUTPUT
MAGIC STAT is a powerful tool for the daily TBBS dayfile utilization.
The main emphasis is the error handling, support and statistics even for
those big BBS systems with a voluminous menu structures like the Vobis
Mailbox Support System in Germany - Aachen.
The idea for this tool was born through my different tries working with
the available statistic tools to manage all statistic requests.
MAGIC STAT includes all possibilities for daily "system-look" and gives
the sysop a feeling of total control.
I think - even on bigger systems - it isn't necessary to have steady
overview about operating rate and downloads. It is enough to do this work
once a day...you will save much time and can go without additional
time intensive menu entrys and uncountable configuration utils.
FEATURES:
---------
* Text and ANSI embedded statistic output files:
- System overview
- Downloads
- Operating rate on each line
* growing up database files used for daily utilization
* Download top list including all downloaded files since from beginning
* graphical Line operating rate with info about calls, operating rate and
login time on each line on max. 64 lines
* Clearly arranged system overview with all important values
* .CFG file included up tp 99 own search routines in up to 10 seperate groups
* Log file stores daily activity - perfect for weekly or monthly statistic
* Reset daycounter only by deleting .DAT file
* Easy to handle
* User friendly: MAGIC.CTL file enables you to configure your own colors,
path and filenames
* High speed counting, even if with many search routines and big dayfiles
* Clear screen design in usual TBBS outfit

VSYSOP 1.0
Programmer: Casey Sprangel
Company: IFX
$75.00
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2
This is a simulation of what it may be like to be a system operator on one
of the larger data services in the nation. It is not designed to be 100%
accurate or resemble any one BBS. The problems and situations found in this
program are the result of many years of running a BBS. Most of the users
that you will find in this simulation will not take up any of your time, as
do many actual users. The select few that will use up your time are the ones
to watch. They will be giving you the most trouble.
Don't be so eager to lock out a user or erase his mail. Bad things can
happen if you get a reputation as a censor or make the wrong person mad at
you. It may even get to the point that you will be forced to take your system
off-line.
Your goal is to get your BBS to grow. You must attract the most users and
get them to take part in your system. The situations are very realistic.
Do your best to use the golden rule and you will survive.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VS-NET 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2, VSYSOP 1.x and (PIMP 2.x or TIMS 1.1)
VS-NET is not just a piece of software but a international game network for
ASR's "The Virtual Sysop Game". This is the 1st TBBS game that allows your
system to compete and participate with other TBBS systems all over the world
for international system/player ranking.
Because of the runaway success of The Virtual Sysop Game, and the nature of
the game lending very well to inter-system competition, international player
ranking, and international system ranking, The VS-NET was created.
VS-NET operates over the InterNet using PIMP or over the FIDONET using TIMS.
The VS-NET HUB system compiles the daily site submissions then sends back the
VS-NET Master File to each system that made a submission.
Because of the speed of the internet, this will usually result in a
turnaround time of just a few hours, regardless of your systems location.
VS-NET is a totally automated system and only requires the initial setup.
Once VS-NET is setup on your system, it will run continually, updating your
systems VS-NET information daily.

BUSTOUT 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$50.00
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2 AND ANSI
BUSTOUT is TDBS game designed after the classic arcade game 'BREAKOUT'.
BUSTOUT controls a highly animated ball and a progressive series of bricks
that make up the playing table. The player uses his paddle to return the
the ball into the bricks until all of the bricks have been knocked out and
before using up his alotted number of balls. Each layer of bricks is worth
an increasing number of points with the highest points being the top row
of bricks.
The play slowly picks up in difficulty as the brick layers move closer to
the players paddle. This is extremely fast paced action as the ball banks,
richochets and slices off the paddle and the bricks.
The game ends when the player has used up his alotted number of balls in
a single round or the user quits the game. Scoring is done by the point
value of the bricks that have been knocked out.
BUSTOUT stores the ALL TIME high scores as well as the current month and
previous months HIGH Scores. This makes BUSTOUT perfect for monthly
tournament play.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
pPONG 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$50.00
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2 AND ANSI
pPONG is TDBS game designed after the classic arcade game 'PONG'.
pPONG controls a highly animated ball and a vast array of obsticles
that make up the playing table. The player uses his paddle to return the
the ball and prevent the computer from scoring. Each ball return is worth
a fix amount of points, but the computers points vary depending on the
complexity of the obsticle layout.
The play slowly picks up in difficulty as the obsticles become more
complex and the players paddle size decreases. This is extremely fast
paced action as the ball banks, richochets and slices off obsticles and the
paddle.
The game ends when the computer has won 10 rounds or the user quits the
game. Scoring is done by the number of rounds that the player has won
against the computer. pPONG stores the ALL TIME high scores as well as the
current month and previous months HIGH Scores. This makes pPONG perfect
for monthly tournament play.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
SCREEN INVADERS 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$50.00
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2 AND ANSI
Screen Invaders is TDBS game designed after the classic arcade game
'SPACE INVADERS'.
Screen Invaders controls a brightly colored array of enemy space ships
that the player must blow out of SPACE before reaching their shields. Each
enemy space ship is worth a fixed amount of points which is added to the
players point total each time they blow one up. The player will also loose
points each time they miss a target.
The enemy fleet slowly picks up reinforcements as the game progresses and
the attacks become increasingly more difficult and fast paced. The enemy will
also occasionally attempt a full-on frontal assault, throwing everything that
they have at you, fortunately, you have the opportunity to collect nuclear
bombs from time to time and can wipe out the entire approaching fleet with
one bomb.
The game ends when the player is distroyed by being hit without any shields
remaining. Screen Invaders stores the ALL TIME high scores as well as the
current month and previous months HIGH Scores. This makes Screen Invaders
perfect for monthly tournament play. Screen Invaders can also be played
in RIP MODE to add real PHASER firing sound effects.

TAROT44 1.01
Programmer: Tina Shields
Company: Isle-Net Telecommunications
$50.00
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2
TAROT44 is an exciting, new TDBS system which prepares detailed Tarot card
readings for your users.
The Tarot illustrates the stages of life, man's joys and sorrows, his hopes
and fears, and illuminates a path of spiritual enlightenment. Tarot readings
are an intuitive attempt to find meaningful answers to the Querent's
concerns through random association, suggestion & intuition. For centuries,
princes and paupers alike have sought answers to life's questions through the
Tarot. They were used in the court of Charles VI of France, and banned during
the reign of Edward VI of England. Today, you can tap the mystic wisdom
of TAROT44 for answers to your questions about life, love and finances.
TAROT44 performs two types of Tarot card readings. The Celtic Cross,
the oldest and most common spread, is used for specific questions. The
Astrological Spread is symbolic of the twelve houses of the Zodiac. The user
selects the type of reading they desire. The deck of seventy-eight cards
is shuffled and ANSI graphics are used to illustrate the formation of the
spread. The appearance of each card and its positional meaning are described
in detail. After all cards are displayed in order, the spread is analyzed,
conclusions are drawn and recommendations are made. At this point the reading
may be reviewed and/or downloaded as a text file.
TAROT44 features an extensive tutorial on the history, scientific found-
ations and philosophy of the Tarot. The user can view detailed interpretations
of a specific card, or scroll forward or backward through the entire deck.
Both types of readings are explained in detail. Sample readings walk the user
through each screen. Please note that not all features are implemented in this
demo version and only a partial database is included to illustrate these
capabilities.

ABOOK 1.3
Programmer: Kurt Risser
Company: ShivaSoft
$29.00
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2
This software maintains public and private internet address
lists for users of TBBS systems with internet e-mail services.
It allows the user to easily select the intended recipient of
internet e-mail from their own private or the shared public list.
A short public list is provided with the program.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
PURETEST 1.0
Programmer: Kurt Risser
Company: ShivaSoft
$39.00
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2
This software administers the 500 question Purity Test, version
4.0. The Purity Test is a document developed originally by
students at MIT's Baker House in 1982. It is purported to
measure a person's degree of purity, especially as it pertains to
sexual activities and tastes (or the lack thereof).
The test contains some language and describes activities which
may offend some users. The Online Purity Test software contains
a special warning and requires the user to actually type the
whole word YES before proceeding.
The Online Purity Test software allows TBBS users to take the
test in eleven sections as they appear in the original document.
Users can complete a section at a time as they wish. When all
sections have been completed, a 100 percentile score is calculated
based on the number of YES answers recorded for each section.
Note that the software never records answers to any specific
question. Instead it records the number of YES replies for each
section, and uses these totals when calculating the final score.
The number of YES replies for each section is recorded, but is
viewable only by the user taking the test. Section YES totals
are not made avaliable to other users.
After completion of all sections, the user's Purity Score is
made available to other users in several ways. A screen displays
a group of users from the top and bottom of the score list.
Users may choose to display the entire list a screenful at a
time, in either ascending or descending order. From these lists,
users may conveniently send e-mail to another user who appears on
the list. Another way that user's scores are made available is
via the ULTRACHAT hook, which is included with registered versions
only, and only works on BBS's using ULTRACHAT. Users of
ULTRACHAT can view a Purity Test score for a specific user from
within ultrachat or display a list of the TOP 10 Most and Least Pure.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
QK 1.0
Programmer: Casey Sprangel
Company: IFX
$20.00
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2
Based on "King of the Board" door for PCBoard/Wildcat which was first made
into a TDBS game by Judah Holstein.
This is a game that allows you to challange any player in a pyramid that is
displayed on the screen. You may challange anyone 3 postions ahead of you in
the grid or if you are not on the grid because there are more than 29 players
you may challange players in the 27 thru 29 position. If you answer the
question correctly you exchange places with the person you challanged.
The format of the answer is shown to you with asterisks (*). Spaces and
special characters - ie: "!@#$%^&*()-" are shown to you to help make guessing
the answer a little easier. After each guess, you will be shown an updated
format that includes the letters in your answer that you got right (in the
correct position) to help you get it right the next time. The object, of
course, is to get to the top of the pyramid and become the King!

PT-COM 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2
PT-COM is a program that allows the modification of the TDBS compiler options
that were used to compile a TDBS application. This program was designed for
my own personal use as a programmer to help ease the process of determining
the OPTIMAL memory configuration for a given application without having to
continueously recompile and test.
I have also used this program to adjust the TDBS memory configuration of
programs that give FIRPOOL or END OR GLOSSARY errors as well as enhance the
performance of applications.

FAKEDOS 6.2
Programmer: Casey Sprangel
Company: IFX
$FREE
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2
Fake-Dos is a compulation of program prototypes that where used for testing
of application and game ideas. These prototypes or 'old code', have been put
together into one program that uses a DOS 6.2 interface to give the
appearence of dos and dos executable programs. This, to the would be hacker,
who ACCIDENTIALLY discovered your sysop dos access, would give a realistic
feeling of being in dos, complete with 6 dos games (.EXE), complete dos
command set, format.exe and unformat.exe and various utility programs. Its
interesting to see which users tell you that you messed up and made your dos
access accessible, and which users 'TEST' the format command!
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
UCSEND 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2, ULTRACHAT and MONITOR TSR
UC-Express if a free product of Advanced Systems Research that will enable
your UltraChat system to overcome the 'Window of opportunity' delay that is
normally part of Ultrachat. This means that when a user sends a private
message or a chat page to someone who is outside of ultrachat, that the user
will receive it immediately, unless that user is in a file transfer or some
other operation that would make receiving the message impossible.
UC-Express does this by running as a ghost task and interfacing ASR's
remarkable TDBS Host interface 'MONITOR'. By use of the Monitor TSR,
UC-Express parses Ultrachats SEND files to send a formatted message to the
intended line along with any user message that was entered in UltraChat.
UC-Express can be configured to provide log file logging of its operation.
This will log all PRIVATE and PAGE messages that it transacts.

UCGOTO 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2, ULTRACHAT and GOTO COMMAND
UCGOTO is a free program of Advanced Systems Research that is intended to
interface ASR's GOTO COMMAND program to UltraChat. This will allow your
users to JUMP to anywhere in your system that you have configured GOTO
COMMAND for, and still buffer UltraChat and then take them back to UltraChat
when they exit the function or program they where using.
This will eliminate the restriction of 9 DOTBBS and 9 EXITBBS commands that
are currently part of UltraChat, and allow you to configure an unlimited
number of external commands and accesses to your ultrachat.
UCGOTO works with either the registered or demo version of GOTO COMMAND and
must be setup in the GOTO COMMAND directory.

C2CHAT 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES ULTRACHAT, TDBS 1.2 and MONITOR TSR
Come-2-Chat is a free program that allows you the sysop to configure a
command in Ultrachat that will enable your users a command that they can use
to request a line or the entire system to come to the chat area that they are
in.
This program was designed because several of my customers who run chat
systems, wished to encourage the use of chat on there systems and wished that
there was an easy way for someone who was along in chat to be able to get a
chat going with one or more people.
Come-2-Chat requires the ASR TDBS Host Interface "MONITOR TSR". Come-2-Chat
works by simulating a F4 Keystroke on the console and then using TBBS'
console message broadcast feature to send a preformated message to a specific
user or to the entire system.

UCHELP 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES ULTRACHAT and TDBS 1.2
The UCHELP 1.0 ultrachat interface is a free program that allows you to
create extended help information on the commands used in your ultrachat
configuration. This will allow a user to see extended information regarding
the use of the commands that are used in your ultrachat configuration.
Example:
:/CH /RWHO
Command: RWHO
ULTRACHAT HELP UTILITY (c) ASR
═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
Syntax: /RWHO {@}{systemid}
The /RWHO command is used to report WHO'S on another system that
is currently linked with us or on a system that is part of a link
of a system that is linked to us.
Examples:
/RWHO @ASR
/RWHO @BARGRILL.ASR
/RWHO @RNDZVOUS.BARGRILL.ASR
You can determine the link path by reversing the order of the
system id's displayed in front of messages from a system.
══════[ Press and Key ]══════════════════════════════════════════════════════
The program file, UCHELP.TPG, allows seamless access to context sensitive
help while in an ultrachat session.

ULINK 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2 and ULTRACHAT 1.x
ULINK is a FREE program to assist in the logon of ULTRACHAT linking
operations.
This program was written because of the issues of allowing a logon link with
another system. Since a user name must be created for the system that is
going to be logging on, and in many cases, you do not want that dummy user to
go thru your normal logon routines (ie. bulletins, user registration systems,
etc), the ULINK can be placed at the top of your 0000 SDL menu entry to check
for the logon name of your ultrachat link user. This will then teleport that
logon to a sdl menu that will automatically enter the logon into an ultrachat
conference so that the link operation can be completed.

$FREE
REQUIRES ULTRACHAT 1.x and TDBS 1.2
CC is a free program of Advanced Systems Research that is intended to allow

CC does this by storing ansi codes into the ADDR1, ADDR1 and COUNTRY fields
of the TBBS userlog.bbs. If you are using these fields already, and you have
to have them...then you cannot use this program.
You can then use the %ADDR1%, %ADDR2% and %COUNTRY% insertion parameters you
your UltraChat Control Files instead of ansi codes to enable your users to
select the color configuration that they desire.

SP 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES ULTRACHAT 1.x and MONITOR 2.x TSR
SP is a FREE program to allow private messages to be sent immediatly outside
of ultrachat.
This program was written because of the issues of sending private messages
to other lines of your system while in ultrachat. Ultrachat buffers private
messages until the user go thru a 'window of opportunity'. This means that
your users could be sending messages to someone in a TDBS application and
think that the target line received the message, when in fact, the user may
not see that message until after he exits the application. This can create
frustration when the user in ultrachat thinks that the other user is ignoring
him.

something that is easier to use when navigating a large online system than
the usual [A] - wait for menu - [C] - wait for menu - [F] - wait for menu -
[D] - and wait for menu approach to system navigation. By putting a Forward
Slash (/) key (or any access key you wish) on all of your menus, you give

automatically their icons thus eliminating the need to mess with archived
files. If you have a large amount of icons for the caller to obtain, you can
give them the option to download a single archive containing all the icons.
Also if for some reason a caller does not want to recieve your icons they can
opt to skip the process entirely. And the sysop has control over which

SYSTEM DESIGNER produces some of the most efficient ANSI screens we've seen

We think it will allow many people to use TBBS that just wouldn't ordinarily
want to go through the SDL learning curve. And for TBBS veterans, it makes
system design and update chores much easier. As a third party "option",
SYSTEM DESIGNER begins to look mandatory for serious TBBS Design work.

PIMP v3.xx
Programmer: Jack Richard
Company: BoardWatch
$275.00
The Personal Internet Mail Processor is a 100% assembly language add-on
product for TBBS bulletin board systems. PIMP is technically known as an
"option module" as it uses eSoft, Inc.'s option module interface to very
closely integrate operation with TBBS itself. It loads as part of the BBS
software, and is active while the BBS is up and running.
PIMP is designed to connect a TBBS bulletin board systems to the global
Internet domain name e-mail system by simulating the UNIX-to-UNIX COPY
PROGRAM (UUCP) commonly used by UNIX systems to provide dial-up connections
to pass electronic mail. In this way, PIMP makes a TBBS system LOOK like a
UNIX communicator, when talking to other UNIX systems.
UUCP has become something of a standard means of connecting to the Internet
on an intermittent basis to exchange mail and files. Many Internet sites
offer low cost UUCP dial-up accounts.
Using PIMP and a UUCP dial-up account, you can link your TBBS system to the
Internet - allowing your callers to send and receive electronic mail to
callers on CompuServe, GEnie, America Online, Delphi, BIX, The Well, other
bulletin boards, and thousands of companies, Universities, and other domain
name e-mail sites now available in over 100 countries worldwide.

The Last126 1.0 type 22 replacement is a program that works in
conjuction with TBBS' CALLERS.BBS file. It is a standalone program, but
it must have access to the CALLERS.BBS and USERLOG.BBS files.
The program file, LAST126.TPG, allows seamless access to the data structures
of the CALLERS.BBS and USERLOG.BBS to provide a more robust and attractive
display of the last 126 callers to the system, or to a smaller number of
callers that you may designate.
This allows you to perform such things as a LAST 10 callers list during
the users logon, or display the last 126 callers from a menu option. You
can optionally display either the callers expiration date or the number of
times the callers have logged onto the system.
This program is provided as the result of my need to break down the
flat file structure of the CALLERS.BBS file for use in another project.
I used the LAST126 program during the testing of the file structure,
and decided to enhance it a bit so that it could be used as a standalone
program and by systems other than my own.

UC-SPLIT 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2 and ULTRACHAT
UCSPLIT is a free program of Advanced Systems Research that is intended to

UCSPLIT does this by storing windowing size information into the CITY and
STATE fields of the TBBS userlog.bbs. If you are using these fields already,
and you have to have them...then you cannot use this program.
You can then use the %CITY% and %STATE% insertion parameters
in your UltraChat Control Files to control the scrolling windowing effect of

The end result of this configuration will allow a user to type in one
scrolling window while the other users and system messages scroll in another
window. The resulting effect is very dramatic.

MR. CID 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2
MR. CID is a FREE product of Advanced Systems Research that allows you
to request the STORED caller id information from your modems that
have caller id chips and that STORE the CCID information and can retrieve
it with an AT command. This is all done as the user logs onto your system
and is stored in a formatted text file. Mr. CID does this by putting your
modem back into a command state and sending the AT command that returns
the CCID information. Mr. CID can also be used for other types of modem
information collection such as polling for signal quality!
Since not all areas have Caller ID or if you just don't wish to bother
with it, Mr. CID can also run in FAKE Caller ID mode. This mode will
simply go through the steps of CCID polling and inform the user of its
activity. This in itself should cut down on the number of bogus phone
numbers that are used in your registrations.
If you configure Mr. CID for FAKE mode, then this will apply to all lines
on your system. But, if you have just a couple of modems with Caller ID
chips, but wish to use Mr. CID on ALL of your lines, you can configure the
NON Caller ID lines to collect non Caller ID information such as your
modems product id or line quality information.

the ASRLINK program and include the Library procedures that are contained
in ASRLINK Libraries.
This gives developers the ability to create and distribute libraries
for the 1st time and not have to distribute their source code.
In order to use this Linker, you will need the ASRLINK program and
the ASR.LIB library. The ASR.LIB library contains global procedures that
are used by all libraries that are compiled using the ASRLINK program.
The library is used just like any DOS based library would be. Library
procedures will automatically handle .DBF files that are already open
so that you do not have to close the files and reopen them after a
library procedure call. This will allow you to have 9 currently active
database files open at a single time, which can use areas 1-9, area 10 is
reserved for the library routines that open datafiles.
The procedures and variables used in the ASRLINK Libraries all start
with x_ so that you can eliminate naming convention conflicts. Also,
all library procedures return a logical that indicates the success or
failure of a library procedure as well as a public variable(s) that contains
return data or information on the reason for a procedures failure.

The ASRTSR.LIB contains over 40 procedures that allow you to create
TDBS programs that can communicate to the MONITOR TSR program. The TSR
allows you to create TDBS programs that can go far beyond the abilities
of the TDBS xBase Langauge and has been used by ASR to produce some of
the most sophisticated TDBS applications that have ever been written for
TBBS.
In order to use this library, you will need the ASRLINK program and
the ASR.LIB library. The ASR.LIB library contains global procedures that
are used by all libraries that are compiled using the ASRLINK program.
The library is used just like any DOS based library would be. Library

The routines in ASRTSR.LIB are highly optimized to produce the smallest
amount of glossary size and requirement. ASRTSR.LIB only declares 10
public variables.
The procedures and variables used in the ASRLINK Libraries all start
with x_ so that you can eliminate naming convention conflicts. Also,
all library procedures return a logical that indicates the success or

CONSOLE 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES MONITOR TSR and a LAN
CONSOLE is a long awaited program with the nature of its ability to
SHARE files with TDBS applications that are running simultaneously. Not
only does CONSOLE share files with all of the ASR programs that have
been written for the MONITOR TSR program, but it shares files with the
TSR itself. This has never been done before and the use of this
technique will probably have much wider use in the future.
The CONSOLE program is a LAN BASED workstation TBBS CONSOLE emulation
that not only looks and works like the TBBS console, but can also
control the TBBS console's keyboard. This works the same way that
SYSMON 6.2 and the ASR-DOS console command works. CONSOLE will allow
any number of users on LAN workstations to concurrently display and
monitor/control the TBBS console, even on wide area networks. CONSOLE
can also display in 16, 32 and 64 line modes or in 16 and 32 line panel
carousel mode.
The CONSOLE program was written as a TEST program to devolpement a safe
LAN based file sharing method with TDBS applications that had to run in
REALTIME along with LAN based systems that also had to run in realtime,
such as SQL Servers and corporate database applications.
The result of this developement is a ASM, C, Clipper and TDBS library
that will give applications the ability to do file handling on a network
and on the TBBS system without creating TBBS General Failures or Lan
Sharing Violations and without having to perform unreliable SEMAPHORE
file handling techniques. Application developers requiring this type
of file sharing ability can contact ASR about licensing the use of
the libraries.

online ability and sophistication.
In order to use this library, you will need the ASRLINK program and
the ASR.LIB library. The ASR.LIB library contains global procedures that

BADDBF 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2
BAD DBF is a program that is designed to SCAN an entire drive for DBASE
datafiles ".DBF" and check the data segments of the files for data
corruption. File corruption is usually the result of NUL bytes being
introduced into a record. If a NUL byte is the first character of a
FIELD entry, then TBBS could lockup whenever it trys to read the
information from that record and field.
BAD DBF will not take any kind of corrective action, it will simply report
the errors and write them to a log file "ERROR.LOG". The log file will
contain the PATH and FILENAME of each file and the byte offset of the bad
data as well as the record number that the data is in. You will normally
have to use a sector editor in order to clean up the bad data since NUL
bytes will terminate a field and cannot be edited with DBASE tools.
NOTE: If the NUL bytes are found AFTER the last record of the Datafile,
this could be something that a PROGRAM wrote into the .DBF on purpose and
and should not be tampered with.

developed by After Dark Software for Windows.
This program will rapidly autodetect the RIPTERM version number as well as
the presence of the 4 .BMP files that are required. If the .BMP files are
not present, then the program will automatically download and place the
required files to the users system.

RIPWATCH 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2 AND RIP 1.54
RIPWatch is a full screen TDBS Online ANALOG Clock written for RIP 1.54 and
RIP 2.0. It has 3 realtime moving hands and a colorful dial face.
Although this is a very simple type of application, its use of Trigonometry
for its display calculations proved to be no simple task in TDBS.
RIPWatch makes a very nice replacement for the TBBS Time function for callers
using a RIP Terminal program.
This program is a snippet of code from a much larger program that I have
been working on for the last few months for the pending RIPTERM 2.0 release.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
GIF SCAN 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
REQUIRES TDBS 1.2
GIF SCAN was designed to search your TBBS Message Enclosure directory for
.GIF files that were left there as part of a message enclosure from a user
of a system. This program will identify the .GIF files and then copy them
to the GIF SCAN directory where they may then be reviewed.
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
RIPMath 1.0
Programmer: Alan McNamee
Company: ASR
$FREE
RIPMath is both an online TDBS program and an offline DOS Executable
application for dealing with the base 36 and base 64 math used in
the 1.54 and 2.0 RIPScript specifications.
This program was developed for my own use as a programming tool to
calculate Meganums and Ultranums from decimal values and to take
meganums and ultranums and reverse them back to their decimal values.
I also included a feature that allows the calcuation of up to 12 flag
values that can be OR'd together to produce a RIP ultranum flag value.
