It's OK looking at other people's source code, but it can be a bit confusing seeing 10,000 odd lines all at once. A better way to learn, in my opinion, is to see a game being developed from complete scratch. That way you can see how the whole project is approached, from initial design to completed game. This article will show you how I wrote a simple Pacman clone. It's intended to further explain the game's source code which I hope Steve has included somewhere on this disk. OK it's not exactly Alien Breed, but everybody's got to start somewhere, Even top coders started off by writing their own version of a classic e.g. Pacman, Defender, MORE > ... .
