  164.        ``remove,'' ``keep,'' and ``step'' commands in _i_n_s_t to
  165.        customize the list of subsystems to be installed, then
  166.        select the ``go'' menu item.

  257.        You must be running release IRIX 5.3 or 6.2 to run version
  258.        2.6 of this product, and you must have installed the
  259.        ToolTalk execution environment (_t_o_o_l_t_a_l_k__e_o_e._s_w), the X11
  260.        Execution environment (_x__e_o_e._s_w._e_o_e), the Motif Execution
  261.        environment (_m_o_t_i_f__e_o_e._s_w._e_o_e), the Desktop Filetype Rules
  262.        (_d_e_s_k_t_o_p__e_o_e._s_w._F_i_l_e_T_y_p_i_n_g_R_u_l_e_s) and the Desktop Shared
  263.        Libraries (_d_e_s_k_t_o_p__e_o_e._s_w._d_s_o). WorkShop also requires the
  264.        use of an ICCCM compliant window manager, for example  _4_D_w_m,
  265.        _m_w_m, or _t_w_m.

  270.        If you are using Fix & Continue for C++ code on IRIX 5.3, we
  271.        recommend that you install patch 894 of C++ compiler. This
  272.        will enable you to do Fix & Continue on templates. However
  273.        if you *do not* wish to install the patch you should
  274.        *un*comment the following line (remove the ! from the front)
  275.        in /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/Cvmain.

  285.        If you are upgrading from IRIX 5.3 or IRIX 6.1 to IRIX 6.2

  287.        WorkShop, this license will be converted to a FLEXlm license
  288.        when you install WorkShop.  If you have a permanent NetLS
  289.        concurrent license, you can use this license by changing the
  290.        "useNetLSLicense" resource in the /usr/lib/X11/app-
  291.        defaults/Cvmain file to "True," or placing this in your
  292.        .Xdefaults file.  For a permanent concurrent license, see
  293.        Chapter 7 of the release notes.

  295.        You must have Insight installed to view the online books.

  338.        configured with color scheme files (located in
  339.        /_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_X_1_1/_s_c_h_e_m_e_s) installed by _C_a_s_e_V_i_s_i_o_n._s_w._s_c_h_e_m_e_s and
  340.        app-defaults files (located in /_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_X_1_1/_a_p_p-_d_e_f_a_u_l_t_s).
  341.        Under normal circumstances, you do not have to modify either
  342.        of these sets of files.

  344.        You may configure your colors by using the scheme browser in
  345.        the toolchest to preview and specify your scheme choice.  If
  346.        you have recently upgraded to Irix 5.3 or later, you will
  347.        want to remove the "*scheme:  <name>" entry in your
  348.        .Xdefaults file (if you had one) prior to using the scheme

  352.        2.6.2  _W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p__T_e_s_t_e_r  WorkShop Tester is configured with a
  353.        default instrumentation file (located in
  354.        /_u_s_r/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p/_u_s_r/_l_i_b/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p/_T_e_s_t_e_r/_d_e_f_a_u_l_t__i_n_s_t_r__f_i_l_e).
  355.        This is used to set up default criteria for instrumenting
  356.        your program for test coverage counting and tracing.  Under
  357.        normal circumstances, you do not have to modify this file.
  358.  
  359.        2.7  _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_i_n_g__W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p__o_n__a__D_i_f_f_e_r_e_n_t__D_i_s_k__o_r__o_n__a__S_e_r_v_e_r

  361.        Because WorkShop is rather large and space under /_u_s_r is
  362.        usually tight, WorkShop uses an installation architecture
  363.        that makes it easy to relocate the bulk of the installed
  364.        files to directories that have extra space.  All the
  365.        WorkShop files (except the man pages, the demos, and the
  366.        books) are installed under the directory /_u_s_r/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p, then
  367.        those files are linked back to the appropriate spots under
  368.        /_u_s_r. Therefore if you do not have enough disk space on /_u_s_r
  369.        to install the tools, you can install them on an auxiliary
  370.        disk and link them back to /_u_s_r automatically.

  459.        These commands link the /_u_s_r/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p directory to the
  460.        /_d_i_s_k_3 disk, where there is enough space to hold the files.
  461.        The files are then installed on /_d_i_s_k_3 and the
  462.        _W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p._s_w._l_i_n_k_s subsystems install links pointing to those
  463.        files from /_u_s_r.
  464.  
  465.        Please note that if you previously had had WorkShop
  466.        installed, then a directory called /_u_s_r/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p would have
  467.        already existed and the above _l_n -_s command would produce a
  468.        link called /_u_s_r/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p.  Since this is
  469.        undesireable, you should first uninstall all WorkShop
  470.        images, then _r_m -_r_f /_u_s_r/_W_o_r_k_S_h_o_p to remove any leftover
  471.        files before executing the _l_n -_s command.

  473.        In another example, if you want to install WorkShop on a
  474.        file server and have users mount the software from there,
  475.        first install the software on the server as usual:
