  4. This training material on Unix is from the Information resources 
  5. training people at Denver's Bureau of Reclamation.  Take it for what 
  6. it's worth to you; you paid for it, and probably far more than you 
  7. would think.  Like all bureaucrats, the author of these documents 
  8. wishes to remain anonymous.  I have stripped down the Nerdperfect 
  9. originals to ascii text.  The Bourne Shell one might have the most 
  10. meaning but decide for yourself.  This material is provided, as is, with 
  11. ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY as to its accuracy or usefulness.  If you whole 
  12. life is ruined as a result of seeing this brain damaged material, 
  13. complain to the Bureau of Reclamation, the President, or your 
  14. congressperson, not me!

  16. The multimax Unix is a conglomeration of Sys V R3.2 with some BSD 
  17. stuff thrown in for good measure, based on my very brief review.

  19. More to the main point, there probably exists ton's of training 
  20. manuals in electronic form, for which the taxpayers of this country 
  21. paid HUGE sums of money.  If you live near a military installation or 
  22. other federal site, you may wish to try and see what they may have.  
  23. The only catch is that they may claim they have to collect duplication 
  24. costs from you. (The law gives them the right, If they don't want to 
  25. give it to you, they'll jack this way up!)  In my case, this whole 
  26. process took only a couple of minutes for someone to copy the 
  27. information from the server to the floppies that I provided.  If they 
  28. hassle you, you should call your congressional representative and 
  29. invoke the Freedom of Information Act, if you really want the things.  
  30. In my opinion, all this stuff should be in a publicly accessible data 
  31. repository.  Congress is working on such a thing, but the plan is to 
  32. charge you even more to get it then you already paid.  Legally, all 
  33. material written by federal agencies including manuals and software is 
  34. in the Public Domain.  You can even sell it, if you can find somebody 
  35. to buy it.
