Pendulum is a simulation of a damped, driven pendulum. It can be used to demonstrate the transitions from small angle sinusoidal oscillations through bifurcation to chaos. The program is also useful as a demonstration of ordinary differential equations since different initial conditions as well as fixed and variable step size Runge-Kutta algorithms can be compared. The simulations can be used as a supplement to "Chaotic Dynamics: An Introduction" by Baker and Gollub.
All graphs in Pendulum have are rendered using the GraphView palette developed at Davidson College. This NeXTStep object is in the public domain for non-commercial educational use. It can be found in another directory on this CD-ROM.
