Q: I've just upgraded to 1.0 (changed the ROM, etc), and I can't get the BuildDisk utility to work. It reports the following:
Building hard disk
scsimodes: can't open /dev/rsd0a
builddisk: Can't determine SCSI capacity
builddisk: Use -s SCRIPT option to specify script
Known scripts are: od, sd200app, sd200dev, sd330, sd660, swapdisk
A: The internal SCSI flat cable probably wasn't seated properly when you reinstalled the CPU board. Open the cube up again and check the cables. (Follow the procedure for replacing the battery, Appendix C in the User's Reference manual, up through step 4.) Also inspect the pins on the 50 pin connector to make sure none of them are bent.
