\b0\i0 may have happened after one or more bounces...likewise a
\b\i bounce-out
\b0\i0 may have encountered many objects. (In this version of the game there will be only
\b\i four
\b0\i0 <
\b0 > hidden objects.)\
\b\i\fs32 Scoring/Object:
\b0\i0\fs28 \
Every time you send a
\i beam
\i0 it uses energy, which costs, so you are assessed one tile for every hit or reverb, and two tiles for every bounce out. Hence the object, which is to find the objects using the least amount of Tiles...be careful, though, since a bad guess results in a 10 tile penalty...\
\b\i\fs32 Guessing:
\b0\i0\fs28 \
Clicking on a button inside the cube itself will leave a
\i guess marker
\i0 (
\i looks almost like a dilapidated paper cup
\i0 ). Pressing it again will remove the
\i marker
\i0 . Pressing the
\b\i guess
\b0\i0 button (lower right) will cause the game to view your current markers as your final guess and attempt to tally your final score. You may continue to play after your guess to aid in learning the concepts. (your score will only suffer further though ;-)\
\b\i\fs32 Other:\
\b0\i0\fs28 \
This is the Pre-Release (
\b NeXT
\b0 term for Beta) of
\b\i Onyx Cube
\b0\i0 , so, \
Several things aren't correct:\
\f0 The two-player/network stuff is not yet implemented\
The images aren't to nice. And there is no color support.\
The sound support is minimal.\
The Help is not too clear and it is not NeXTSTEP help.\
The info panel is overkill ;^>\
The number of objects and size of the play field are constant.\
etc, etc, etc.\
If you have any bugs or suggestions send them to me and I'll see what I can do. (see address at bottom).\
The concept for this game was taken from a board game called
\b Black Box
\b0 , circa 1975-1980 or so...\
This is a
\b\i shareware
\b0\i0 program, so any contribution will be appreciated and will bring you the standard stuff. e.g. a copy of the latest version, etc. Contributions of $20 or more will entitle the contributor to a copy of the
\b\i Source
\b0\i0 code. however awful it might actually be...\
