  18. This distribution contains the RC2 Glide 2.5 drivers for Voodoo2 Based
  19. 3D accelerators.

  62. NOTE: The setup program requires the user be logged in with an that
  63. has Administrator privaliges   If an account has insufficent permisison
  64. the 3Dfx device services will not be installed.

  66. 1) Run the self extracting Glide 2.5 Runtime Drivers .exe file.
  67. 2) Click Setup.
  68. 3) Follow the on screen prompts.
  69. 4) After installation you will need to reboot the system.

  72. Troubleshooting Voodoo2

  77. Q: I have an S3 968/868 video card, why does my system lock
  78. up when I run a Glide title under Windows NT.
  79.  
  80. A: S3 968 and 868 chipsets may misreport the mapped memory used.
  81. There is a chance that your Voodoo2 card will be assigned by 
  82. Plug and Play a memory range that is used by the S3 card, but 
  83. not reported.   The Voodoo2 card can be relocated by:
  84.  
  85.     Windows NT Users: An NT service called NTREMAP is 
  86.         installed when Glide is added to an NT system.
  87.     NTREMAP can change the memory address of a Voodoo2
  88.     card and prevent a conflict with an S3 card.
  89.  
  90.     To use NTREMAP, add the following registry values to:
  91.     \HKLM\Software\3Dfx Interactive\NTRemap
  92.

  98.     The Force Address setting will vary, in this example
  99.     0x12000000 is used.  This is normally free on most
  100.     systems.

  102.     NOTE: If you use an address that over-writes another
  103.     device, Windows NT may not boot.  If such a problem 
  104.     occurs, power off the system and remove your Voodoo2.
  105.     Alter the registry to use a different memory range 
  106.         (or remove the ForceAddress setting).  Then Reinstall
  107.         the Voodoo2 card into your system.

  112. Q: A Windows Glide game that runs fine under Windows 95 won't
  113. run under Windows NT.  What is wrong?
  114.  
  115. A: Some Windows 95 games will not run under Windows NT due to
  116. the use of Windows 95 specific API calls.  Please contact the
  117. game publisher for more information on using Windows NT.
