  1. G-Police Demo Readme        Internet Version 1.0                 September 1997

  3. This demo version of G-Police must be installed by running SETUP from
  4. the CD.
  5.  
  6. ***G-Police requires Microsoft DirectX 5***
  7.  
  8. The game will run on any 166mhz or faster Pentium-class
  9. system. Any DirectX supported Sound Card, input device or 
  10. 2D video card will work with the game, although we strongly
  11. recommend a 3D accelerator.
  12.  
  13. See readme3d.txt for more info on supported 3D hardware.
  14.  
  15. On running GPOLICE.EXE you should see a dialog box allowing you to
  16. select your rendering options. The default choice if you have a
  17. 3D accelerator installed will be HARDWARE 16BIT. However you can run
  18. G-Police with out an accelerator by selecting the SOFTWARE option.
  19.  
  20. Click on PLAY GPOLICE to take you into the game. After a moment or two,
  21. you will see the main menu screen. From here you can change your graphics,
  22. sound and controller options from the options menu, improve your piloting
  23. skills in a training mission, or get straight into the action with the
  24. specially designed demo level.

  26. The default keyboard controller keys are as follows:
  27. Cursor keys:   Pitch and Roll, These control the direction of your Havoc.
  28. Right Shift:   Forward Thrust. Double press for after burners
  29. Right Control: Reverse Thrust. Double press brings you to a quick stop.
  30. Left Control:  Fire. 
  31. Left ALT:      Air brake. Use this for faster turns.
  32. A/Z:           Weapon select up and down. 
  33. S/X:           Hover up/down
  34. C.             Target Lock.
  35. Space Bar:     View select
  36. Escape:        Pause menu. Press ENTER to select an item.

  38. Selecting Joysticks in the Control Setup will allow you to reconfigure
  39. for a joystick or game pad.

  41. Unlike the full game, this demo will not save your options settings so
  42. any changes to the configuration will be lost when you quit the demo. Also
  43. note that this demo does not have full throttle support implemented.

  45. This demo version of G-Police is derived from the full version of the game
  46. which is still in development. It does have a few bugs and has some features
  47. missing from the final version. Look out for the release version of the game
  48. out in October!
