{Win Decor 2.0} - Our original Win Decor, which appeared on issue 82 and is available in our catalog, is one of our most popular programs. It helps Windows users put variety into their desktop by having a different background each time they start Windows. Users have been requesting the ability to have a different screen saver each Windows session too; we've added this feature to this new, updated version. Use it with the and wide assortment of screen savers and wallpaper bitmaps we publish regularly on Softdisk PC.
{Family Record Keeper} - Your great-grandparents may have kept family records, such as births, deaths, and marriages, in the and inside covers of the family Bible. But now, in a high-tech age in which many versions of the and Bible are available on disk, we thought it was time to computerize these family flyleaves as well. Use this program to keep track of things that future generations of genealogists in your family will thank you for recording.
{Language Tutor} - If you have always wanted to pick up a foreign language, or if you'd like to brush up on your skills before going on a trip overseas, Language Tutor will provide a practice drill. We'll be doing Language Tutors for several popular languages, such as French and Spanish, on upcoming issues.
{Interactive Stories} - Maybe you've seen those "interactive" books where you have to choose what to do at decision points and then flip to different pages depending on your choice, to see what happens. This concept works much better on a computer than on paper; there are lots of decisions with no pages to keep track of. Be a part of the and story!
{GeoTutor} - The oldtimers in our audience will remember the GeoTutor series we published back on issues 61 through 63. It helped our readers learn about the countries of the world through a graphical interface. Well, the world hasn't stopped changing since then; if anything, the pace of change has been accelerating. There are whole countries in Europe which didn't even exist as separate nations a few years ago. Thus, we thought it was time to bring back this feature, in a spiffy new VGA interface. In upcoming installments, you'll learn all about the latest changes in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas, and the rest of the world.
{Place Ball} - If you liked Paragon on this issue, you'll enjoy Place Ball, a challenging strategy puzzle where you have to choose which entry point to set loose a ball which must bounce into a set of targets. This game was a hit with our Apple II, Macintosh, and CGA customers when it appeared for those platforms. Our PC VGA customers finally get to see what they're all talking about, only it's better for you because it's coming at you in full VGA color.
{Criss Cross} - You've seen Super Crossword, Word Finder, and Word-Up! on past issues. Maybe you thought we've exhausted every possibilty of computerized word game entertainment. Think again; you've not heard the last word in word puzzles yet. Criss Cross is like a crossword, but different. In Criss Cross, you know what all the words are, but you don't know where each one goes. Try to get them all to fit together. See Criss Cross puzzles on future Softdisk PC issues as part of our regular puzzle rotation.
{Political Plotter} - Where do you stand politically? Are you "left," "right," or just left right out? Find out with this program, which the and _really_, _really_ grizzled oldtimers in our audience will recognize as an upgrade of the "Political Preference Survey" on issue 6, but dressed up in VGA graphics and fortified with a much wider selection of questions, with a choice of short, medium, and long modes.
{Monthly Mystery} - It wouldn't be a mystery if we told you what it was, would it? We'll just have to keep you in suspense until you find out next month just what the "Monthly Mystery" is!
