RulerPal is a handy TSR ruler bar that you can pop up in most text-mode programs. It's perfect for those occasions when you need to line up some text or see how far a paragraph is tabbed over. RulerPal's also compact and flexible. It only takes up 7K of conventional memory while not in use and it can be scrolled up and down the entire text screen. So, if you're favorite text-mode editor lacks a ruler bar or it's not as flexible as you would like, then XRuler's for you.
{Note:} Since RulerPal is a TSR program that will stay in memory until you unload it or reboot, we did not include a run option from the shell. Also, like most utilities, RulerPal should be copied to a utility directory on your hard drive that's also in your PATH. This will allow you to load RulerPal from anywhere on your system. Once RulerPal is placed in a "PATH" directory, simply type "{RULERPAL}" on the command line and press Enter to load it in memory. After loading RulerPal in memory, use the hot-keys "Ctrl-Alt-Period" to display the ruler. If you need to remove RulerPal from memory for any reason, simply type "RULERPAL" from the command line a second time.
