Usually, it's just another day at the and local nuclear power plant. But today, in addition to wattage, it's also pumping out Rads at an unbelievable rate. Some mischievous new nightshift hires have built up nuclear piles from fuel cells, and an overload seems inevitable. Donning a radiation suit, you enter the reactor core. Can you deal with unstable fuel cells, problem employees, and -- even worse -- total meltdown? Luckily, it's only a simulation, so the and worst that can happen is that you'll lose your promotion to Nuclear Technician. If you thought running a nuclear plant was so easy that even dimwitted cartoon characters on FOX TV sitcoms could do it, think again! It's time to Nucleon!
Nucleon was a popular program when it first appeared on our DOS-based product, using CGA and EGA modes (On Disk Monthly #69). It was submitted to us by a guy in Pennsylvania named Todd Lewis, and it was so great that we ended up hiring him full-time (and he was even crazy enough to move down here to Shreveport)! Since then, he's done lots of other stuff for us, in DOS and Windows, but now he's gone back to his first Softdisk triumph, and has brought forth a VGA version of Nucleon.
We still accept program submissions, by the way, so budding programmers out there might become the and next Softdisk success story. Call or write for submission guidelines.
