Softdisk Publishing is proud to announce the birth of two new products. They are "Shareware Spotlight: Games" and "Shareware Spotlight for Windows."
These new products will provide subscribers with the highest quality shareware items to be found in the marketplace. The Games disk will have three or more solid high-quality games each month. These games may be shareware, freeware or public domain offerings, but you can be sure that they will be of the highest quality.
Here are the contents of our first issues of each product:

Feature of the month - GALACTIX
In the event of a meteor striking the heart of New York City there is sure to be widespread panic. But not nearly as widespread as the panic that ensues whenever you play Galactix. Aliens! Weapons! Attacks! It's all here in this wowzer of an arcade game. GALACTIX is also freeware, meaning there are no shareware fees to pay. So enjoy!
Perennial Favorite - CHINESE CHECKERS
A couple of Chinese dragons add just the right accent to this marvelous presentation of Chinese Checkers. Whether you like to play against friends or play by yourself you'll love it.
Solitaire Delight - PYRAMID SOLITAIRE
It's one of the most popular solitaire games of all time and now you can play it without all that unpleasant shuffling and dealing. Just point, click, and watch the scores mount.

Feature of the Month - ABOVE & BEYOND
Everyone I know has trouble finding time to do the things that have to be done. What they don't know is whether it's because they're disorganized or because they simply have too much to do. Above & Beyond will "automatically" organize your life so you'll KNOW you have too much to do.
Card Game - ARACHNID
In the tradition of Windows solitaire card games everywhere we bring you Arachnid. The nice thing about a multi-tasking environment is that you can hide the card game behind the spreadsheet when the boss walks by or call its icon "BugBiter" and just minimize it.
Neat Software Toy - EYECON
It's a fun program! It's a useful program! It's TWO...TWO... Two programs in one. Eyecon is just a pair of eyes that watch your mouse pointer. You can waste your day moving the pointer between the eyes and watching them cross, or you can use it as a little helper to find the pointer for you when you've lost track of it. You decide.
Graphics Fun - PUZZLE
At first glance this is just the classic sliding tiles puzzle. Then you discover that you can use ANY bitmap graphic. If you can copy it into the clipboard you can scramble it and try to puzzle it out. We know how hard it can be to find an interesting bitmap to scramble so we have supplied you with several of our own favorites.

In order to build your excitement we have decided to give you a sample of the new products here on On Disk Monthly!
That's right, we have taken a program that could have appeared on Shareware Spotlight and put it on this issue of On Disk Monthly. Now, it is still "shareware" which means you need to register it if you want to use it. Registration instructions are included with the program, don't worry you'll see them.
We have decided to publish "Klondike," a great little shareware solitaire game program. This is by the same author as the "Pyramid" program on Shareware Spotlight: Games #1 and resembles it in many details, although it is a completely different game.
^CIMPORTANT MESSAGE!!!
Klondike cannot be played without a mouse. If you don't have a mouse connected to your computer, when you try to run Klondike, you will immediately exit the program and return to the shell. If this is happening to you it is because Klondike cannot find an active mouse when it starts.
