  1. INTRODUCTION:
  2.  
  3. TeleCodes will provide you with the location or
  4. number of any area code in current use in the
  5. North American telephone system and the name
  6. and code number of dialable countries through-
  7. out the world, and the local time in either an
  8. area or country code.
  9.  
  10. TeleCodes is controlled from the menu on the
  11. left screen.
  12.  
  13. The MENU displays the time at your location on
  14. the top panel. The next panel down is used when
  15. you know the number and wish know to where an
  16. Area or Country Code is located. The panel
  17. below this is used when you have the name of
  18. the state or country and need its code. The
  19. bottom panel is used to adjust the computer's
  20. clock or date. It also is used to set the
  21. TeleCodes to your "time zone".

  23. The large screen on the right is where
  24. TeleCodes provides information.
  25.  
  26. GETTING STARTED:
  27.  
  28. Be sure your computer TIME, DATE and ZONE are
  29. all correct. If any item needs to be changed
  30. press the letter U to use Utilities. Time and
  31. date adjustment is easily made by following the
  32. prompts. If you change your mind after you
  33. start to correct either a date or time, remove
  34. any typing you have done with the backspace key
  35. and then press ENTER.

  37. To change your time zone press Z (Zone). A menu
  38. will then appear. Move the cursor to the new
  39. time zone and press ENTER. When asked if you
  40. wish to make this your permanent zone, respond
  41. with a Y and the new zone will remain in effect
  42. until you decide to change it again. If you
  43. press N then the change will remain only for
  44. the current session.

  46. If you live in a zone that is not on the menu
  47. use the GMT selection. (There is more data on
  48. GMT later in this document.)
  49.  
  50. THESE ARE THE ONLY ITEMS YOU MUST ATTEND to
  51. before using TeleCodes.

  53. USAGE: IF YOU KNOW THE NUMBER Press:
  54.       A for an Area Code
  55.       C for a Country Code.
  56.  
  57.       Type the number and
  58.       press ENTER.
  59.  
  60. TeleCodes will display for:
  61.  Area Code-State, Capital, location served,
  62.  and the time in the area.
  63.  Country Code-the Country name(s) it serves.
  64.  
  65. IF YOU KNOW THE NAME Press:
  66.       S for the State name
  67.       N for a Country name
  68.  
  69. A list of all names will appear on the screen.
  70. Using the Up and Down arrows move the cursor to
  71. the desired name and press ENTER. TeleCodes
  72. will then display if you pressed S, all Area
  73. Codes in the State and information on the
  74. locale they serve. If you pressed N the Country
  75. Code number and the time in the country will be
  76. seen.

  78. If, when selecting, you press the first letter
  79. in the name the cursor will advance to the
  80. first state/country with that initial. Then use
  81. the arrow keys to move to the name.

  83. Pressing the Home and End keys will quickly move
  84. you to the top or end of the list.
