^CTHE OBJECT
The object of Presidents On Parade is to solve the rebus that is hidden
under the pictures of the 20 Presidents. What's a rebus? A rebus is a saying
or phrase, made up of pictures that represent the words in the phrase. For
instance, "I LOVE YOU" could be A PERSONS EYE, A HEART, and A "U". Anyway, the
rebus in the program is much better than that example. Remove the Presidents'
pictures and give it a try!
^CHOW TO PLAY
To remove the pictures of the Presidents, select TAKE A QUIZ from the main
menu. Then you'll be presented with a list of 20 Presidents. Use the arrow
keys to move the highlight around and press Enter to select a President. An
asterisk will appear by those Presidents whose pictures are no longer covering
part of the rebus.
Next, read the short article about the President you chose and press ESC
when you're finished. Finally, a group of questions will be presented about
the text you just read. Choose A, B, C, or D to select the appropriate answer.
If you choose the correct answer you will hear a high beep -- if you get it
wrong you will hear a low beep.
After all of the pictures are removed from in front of the puzzle, the
main menu option SEE PUZZLE ANSWER will become active. Selecting this will
reveal the answer to the rebus, so only choose this option when you think you
know the answer or have totally given up.
^COTHER FEATURES
If you are called away from your computer and have only part of the puzzle
revealed, then use the SAVE PUZZLE STATUS option on the main menu to save the
work you've accomplished. If you exit the program without doing this, then
you will have to start over at the very beginning.
When you return and run the program again, simply use the LOAD SAVED
PUZZLE option on the main menu to restore the puzzle as you left it.
