^1Play-A-Melody^0 is an easy to use program for playing songs created
with Make-A-Melody. In a jukebox-like fashion, Play-A-Melody displays a list
of song titles in alphabetical order. You select which songs to play and the
sequence in which they are to be played.
^CSELECTING A SONG
Move the highlight box over a song title and press <ENTER>. The
program will immediately load and play the song you have selected. Once the
song begins to play, pressing <ESC> will stop play and allow you to select
another song or exit the program.
^CSELECTING MULTIPLE SONGS
Move the highlight box over the song title and press <F2>. You will
notice that a number is placed to the left of the song title. This number
represents the order in which the song will be played within the list of
songs. Continue selecting songs by moving the highlight box over titles
and pressing <F2>. If you wish to remove a song from the list, move the
highlight box over the title and press <F2>. The song will be removed from
the list and all songs following will be renumbered to reflect the new order.
Press <F3> and all selected songs will be removed from the list.
Once you have selected all the songs you wish to play, press <ENTER>.
Play-A-Melody will begin playing the songs in the list. If you wish to stop
play of a particular song, press <ESC> while that song is playing. Play will
be stopped and the next song in the list will start. Press <F4> and play of
the entire list will be aborted.
^CLEAVING PLAY-A-MELODY
You may exit Play-A-Melody by pressing <ESC>. If you are currently playing
a song or a list of songs, stop play and then press <ESC> to exit the program.
^CGENERAL NOTES
If there aren't any music files in the current directory, Play-A-Melody
will display "No Music Files Found" and prompt you to enter a new path.
Once Play-A-Melody is running, you can change the path by pressing <F10> and
specifying a new location for the program to look for music files.
Play-A-Melody is equipped to detect computers with monochrome monitors
and automatically compensate. Should the program fail to detect this type of
system, tell it you have a monochrome monitor by typing ^1PAM M^0 at the DOS
prompt. Big Blue Disk users, type ^1GO M^0 at the DOS prompt.
To run this program outside ^1Big Blue Disk^0, type: ^1PAM^0.
