  2. This document contains two tables describing graphics formats for
  3. import to and export from WordPerfect 6.0.  Generally, the items
  4. listed in the table are functions that are not supported or appear
  5. different from the original format.

  7. Supported source file (import) formats are: 
  8.      BMP       (OS/2 and Windows)
  9.      CGM       (CALS CGM specification MIL-D-28003A)
  10.      EPS       (Adobe PostScript)
  11.      LPIC      (Lotus PIC)
  12.      PCX       (Paintbrush 3.x)
  13.      PICT      (Macintosh PICT and PICT2)
  14.      TARGA     (TARGA Truevision)
  15.      TIFF      (Tagged Image File Format version 5.0)
  16.      WMF       (Windows Metafile 3.x)
  17.      DXF       (AutoCAD versions 9 - 12)
  18.      MGX       (Micrografx Designer 3.1)
  19.      HPGL      (Hewlett Packard Graphics Language)
  20.      WPG       (WordPerfect Graphics formats)

  22. Supported target file (export) formats are:
  23.      WPG       (WordPerfect Graphics Formats)
  24.      BMP       (Windows Bitmap Format)

  26. GENERAL RESTRICTIONS FOR ALL FORMATS:
  27.      Charting data is not supported.
  28.  
  29.      WordPerfect 6.0 does not support image viewports larger than 27
  30.      inches.
  31.  
  32.      Graphics conversions match text fonts when possible.  If a match
  33.      is not available, the text font defaults to Helvetica.
  34.  
  35.      Graphics conversions currently offer limited support for
  36.      contoured text.  Complex contoured text paths may appear
  37.      different from the original.  This includes, but is not limited
  38.      to, text contoured around rounded rectangles and ellipses.

  48.  CGM (Computer Graphics Metafile)   1)   CALS CGM specification MIL-

  50.                                          is supported, with the
  51.                                          following exceptions:
  52.                                          a)   Polygon Set not
  53.                                               supported
  54.                                          b)   Cell Array not
  55.                                               supported
  56.                                          c)   Restricted Text not
  57.                                               supported
  58.                                          d)   Text Path Up not fully
  59.                                               supported (the text
  60.                                               converts, but it does
  61.                                               not go up)

  63.  DXF (AutoCAD)                      1)   Polyline joints are not
  64.                                          always smooth after
  65.                                          conversion if the line has
  66.                                          a large width.
  67.                                     2)   Fill patterns and line
  68.                                          styles use a 'best fit'
  69.                                          matching method.
  70.                                     3)   3-D is not supported.  If
  71.                                          you wish to preserve the
  72.                                          look or 3-D drawings, you
  73.                                          should export to HPGL
  74.                                          format.

  76.  EPS (Encapsulated PostScript)      No restrictions.  However, the
  77.                                     file must be a valid EPS file
  78.                                     (the first characters must be
  79.                                     "%!PS-Adobe" or "%%PS-Adobe").

  81.  HPGL (Hewlett Packard Graphics     1)   Use a HP7475 plotter
  82.  Language)                               definition when exporting

  87.  LPIC (Lotus PIC)                   1)   Fonts convert to Helvetica
  88.                                          or Times Roman.

  90.                                          16 standard EGA colors.

  92.  MGX (Micrografx Designer 3.1)      1)   User-defined fills convert
  93.                                          to solid fills.
  94.                                     2)   Combined symbols may not
  95.                                          position correctly. 
  96.                                          Uncombined symbols will
  97.                                          position correctly.

  99.  PCX (Paintbrush 3.x)               See General Restrictions.

  102.  PICT (Macintosh)                   1)   PICT is a journal of
  103.                                          Macintosh rendering calls. 
  104.                                          Therefore, some PICT
  105.                                          entities are not supported,
  106.                                          such as:
  107.                                          a)   Clipping Region (used
  108.                                               to display only the
  109.                                               desired portion of an
  110.                                               image, such as a
  111.                                               circle with a shaded
  112.                                               gradient color).
  113.                                          b)   Drawing Mode (which
  114.                                               determines whether you
  115.                                               see one object overlap
  116.                                               another or two objects
  117.                                               'melt' together) is
  118.                                               converted to Copy Mode
  119.                                               (one object overlays
  120.                                               another).

  122.  TARGA (Truevision)                 1)   Some TARGA graphics files
  123.                                          may require that you select
  124.                                          TARGA as the source format,
  125.                                          or use command-line switch
  126.                                          /I-TGA.

  128.  TIFF (Tagged Image File Format)    1)   Conversion of uncompressed
  129.                                          TIFF files and the
  130.                                          following compressions are
  131.                                          supported:
  132.                                          a)   CCITT Groups III and
  133.                                               IV (except multipage)
  134.                                          b)   CCITT Modified run-
  135.                                               length Huffman
  136.                                          c)   PacBits
  137.                                     2)   LZW compressions are not
  138.                                          supported.
  139.                                     3)   Only the first image in a
  140.                                          file is converted.

  142.  WMF (Windows Metafile 3.x)         1)   WMF is a collection of
  143.                                          Windows rendering
  144.                                          functions.  Therefore, some
  145.                                          entities are not supported,
  146.                                          such as:
  147.                                          a)   Region functions. 
  148.                                          b)   Rendering modes other
  149.                                               than Copy Mode convert
  150.                                               to Copy Mode.

  193.                                     8)   Rotated text is not
