  1. HOSEA COMMENTARY
  2.  
  3. 1.    Hos. 2:10-14*    [SHE DID NOT KNOW THAT] I MYSELF HAD 
  4.                                           GIVEN HER THE GRAIN [AND THE WINE]
  5. 2.            [AND THE OIL, AND] (THAT) I HAD SUPPLIED 
  6.  
  7.                                           [SILVER] AND GOLD {{....}} (WHICH) THEY MADE 
  8.  
  9.                                           [INTO BAAL.  The interpretation of it is]
  10. 3.            that [they] ate [and] were satisfied, and they forgot
  11.             God who [had fed them, and all]
  12. 4.            his commandments they cast behind them, which he had
  13.             sent to them [by]
  14. 5.            his servants the prophets.  But to those who led them
  15.             astray they listened, and they honored them [       ]
  16. 6.            and as if they were gods, they fear them in their
  17.             blindness.
  18. 7.                   vacat   
  19. 8.    Hos. 2:11-12    THEREFORE, I SHALL TAKE BACK MY GRAIN 
  20.  
  21.                                           AGAIN IN ITS TIME AND MY WINE [IN ITS SEASON,]
  22. 9.            AND I SHALL WITHDRAW MY WOOL AND 
  23.  
  24.                                           MY FLAX FROM COVERING [HER NAKEDNESS.]
  25. 10.            I SHALL NOW UNCOVER HER PRIVATE PARTS 
  26.                                           IN THE SIGHT OF [HER] LO[VERS AND]
  27. 11.            NO [ONE] WILL WITHDRAW HER FROM MY HAND.
  28. 12.            The interpretation of it is that he smote them with
  29.             famine and with nakedness so that they became a
  30.             disgra[ce]
  31. 13.            and a reproach in the sight of the nations on whom
  32.             they had leaned for support, but they
  33. 14.            will not save them from their afflictions.  AND I
  34.             SHALL PUT AN END TO ALL HER JOY,
  35. 15.    Hos. 2:13    [HER] PIL[GRIMAGE,] HER [NEW] MOON, AND 
  36.  
  37.                                           HER SABBATH, AND ALL HER FEASTS.  The 
  38.                                           interpretation of it is that
  39. 16.            they make [the fe]asts go according to the appointed
  40.             times of the nation.  And [all]
  41. 17.    Hos. 2:14    [joy] has been turned for them into mourning.  
  42.  
  43.                                           AND I SHALL MAKE DESOLATE [HER VINE]
  44.  
  45. 18.            [AND HER FIG TREE,] OF WHICH SHE SAID, "THEY ARE                                           THE HIRE [THAT MY LOVERS HAVE GIVEN] ME."
  46. 19.            AND I SHALL MAKE THEM A FOREST, AND THE W[ILD
  47.             BEAST OF THE FIELD] WILL DEVOUR THEM.
