  62. and one to use in the middle 4 bars."

  66. melody in the last four bars. (So are the 'powerful yet cloying'
  67. lyrics)."

  70. phrase, repeated. That is, bars 5 and 6 are identical to bars 7 and

  76. sure the Number of Bars is set to 4. From this dialog you can also

  84. Range'. You can use these to specify the range of notes you want the
  85. Rhythm Editor grid to display."

  88. for assigning MIDI channels to your Power Chords parts. Use one MIDI
  89. channel for all bass parts, another one for melodies, another for the
  90. instrument, and another for Drums. (Channel 10 is recommended for
  91. Drums.) It's easier if you always use the same assignments."

  93. Display "The Rhythm Editor should now be displaying a pattern 4 bars
  94. long. Click with the right mouse button on the grid. The patch
  95. selected in the New Rhythm Dialog is now being used."

  97. Display "By manipulating the note resolution via the resolution
  98. scrollbar, you can enter any note length from a quarter note, down to
  99. 1/96 of a quarter note. But how about notes longer than a quarter note?"

  101. Display "Press one of the shift keys on the computer keyboard and hold it
  102. down. Now click on a box in the note grid, and while holding shift
  103. key and the mouse button down, drag the mouse to the right. As you
  104. drag the note is elongated."

  106. Display "Try creating several of these longer notes, and then playing your
  107. melody by clicking on the 'Play' button. When you are done experimenting,
  108. click on the 'Zap' button to clear the note grid."

  110. Display "To demonstrate importing from a MIDI file, we've created and
  111. stored MIDI files with the melody phrases you need for Twinkle Twinkle
  112. in them."

  131. key of C. If not, just use the melody loaded from the MIDI file."

  136. click on the Melodies icon to restore the Melody Palette window."

  146. on it again with the right mouse button to stop it playing."

  175. may have to access parts of the song that are not currently visible.

  180. the song."

  193. skills that apply to Melodies work in exactly the same way with Bass
  194. Parts."

  197. when creating a new bass part. You can edit notes, and import from
  198. MIDI files. And for both Melodies and Bass Parts, you can record
  199. directly in from a MIDI instrument."

  202. phrases you'll need. And we'll take this opportunity to show you
  203. another part of Power Chords that you haven't yet seen."

  233. button on the various music elements inside the song. They can all be

  237. titles. You can also edit the patches and MIDI channels of Melodies and
  238. Bass Parts by double clicking on them."

  241. clicking the left mouse button on an empty area in a bar.
