Hi,
this is an MPEG Audio encoded File called whitney.mp2
You can play this audio file with the new Xing Technology
MPEG player demo for Windows3.1 mfw21dem.zip which was posted
a few days ago from me in:
alt.binaries.pictures.utilities newsgroup, if you have a soundcard
installed under win3.1 .
Just rename an MPEG VIDEO file , which is about 15 seconds long to:
whitney.mpg
Then load this MPEG file into the Xing MFW2.1 player. The whitney.mp2 audio
file will be loaded automatically with the video file.
Then adjust the settings for the sound.
It should be set to good quality and 16 bits, if you have a 16 bits soundcard.
This will get the most out of the MPEG audio encoded file.
As I did get myself these soundfiles from Xing I could not compare the
compression factor between WAV and MP2 files..
Unfortunately the MPEG audio encoder does not work, which I've got from
Xing and it is still in Beta testing.
So I could not test the encoding on my own digitized WAVs and I have to post
some MP2 files which I received from Xing....
But anyway, this sound-quality shows, what is possible with MPEG Audio software
only encoding and decoding. Try to listen to it with a 16 bits soundcard for
best performance..
Best regards, Stefan Hartmann, c/o Gatz & Hartmann.
