  4. PM Chronometer is a Presentation Manager applet for astrologers. While running, 
  5. it calculates a horoscope every two minutes, using System Clock time and date. 
  6. Display consists of a list of planetary positions and a graphic horoscope 
  7. wheel. This applet is useful in Horary and Election astrology.

  12. Set aside a directory for PM Chronometer and place all files in it. PM 
  13. Chronometer 0.9 consists of the following files:

  17. PMKronom.Inf   This file 
  18.  
  19. PMKronom.Cmd   Executes EphKron.Exe, then starts AstroClk.Exe 
  20.  
  21. EphKron.Exe    An OS/2 command line utility to build this days planetary 
  22.                calculation data file

  24. AstroClk.Exe   Main program, a PM applet that casts a horoscope at regular 
  25.                intervals 
  26.  
  27. AGrafix.Dll    Dynamic-link library for drawing graphic Wheel. Optionally, you 
  28.                may put this anywhere on your DLL path (LIBPATH is the 
  29.                environmental variable for that).

  31. PMKron.Dat     Short text file with Time Zone, Latitude, and Longitude for use 
  32.                by both executables 
  33.  
  34. Table.LBR      Long-term planetary calculation data for use by EphKron.Exe. If 
  35.                you already have my PM Horoscope this file will be familiar to 
  36.                you.

  38. Cubic.Eph      This file must be newly calculated each day by EphKron.Exe.

  42.  PM Chronometer uses the Helvetica and Courier fonts when they are available. 
  43. For best display, install them.

  46. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. How to Use PM Chronometer ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  48. Setting Up for Your Location 
  49.  
  50. The file PMKron.Dat has already been set for the location where  PM Chronometer 
  51. was developed. Use the System Editor or Enhanced Editor to revise it. The lines 
  52. are as follows:

  54. Time Zone 
  55.  
  56. The Time Zone is positive for West of GMT. If you want a half-hour time zone, 
  57. such as Newfoundland or Hawaii, append ".5" to the number. Here are some 
  58. examples:

  70. Longitude

  72. The Longitude consists of the number of whole Degrees, "W" for West longitudes 
  73. or "E" for East longitudes, and the number of whole Minutes. The "W" or "E" 
  74. must be uppercase.

  78. The Latitude consists of the number of whole Degrees, "N" for North latitudes 
  79. or "S" for South latitudes, and the number of whole Minutes. The "N" or "S" 
  80. must be uppercase.

  82. The reading and parsing of this file is not friendly like PM, I will admit, but 
  83. you only need to set it once.

  85. Note:  Latitudes beyond the Arctic and Antarctic circles (66N or 66S) are not 
  86.        acceptable, and PM Chronometer will close immediately after opening if 
  87.        you try to use such a coordinate.

  89. Starting PM Chronometer 
  90.  
  91. To start PM Chronometer, open an OS/2 command line window and enter 
  92. PMKronom.Cmd. If this is the first time, EphKron will make its calculations 
  93. while showing its progress, then terminate. AstroClk will then load, and after 
  94. about 10 seconds, it will begin calculating planets.

  96. PM Chronometer was designed under 800 x 600 pel SVGA, but was sized and 
  97. positioned to stay within 640 x 480 pels. You may size the main window any way 
  98. you like, but it will become unreadable if it is too small!

  100. Using PM Chronometer

  102. Every four seconds the time display will be updated, together with the list of 
  103. Angles and House Cusps below it. Every two minutes the Planets will be 
  104. recalculated, and the Wheel graph redrawn. You may minimize PM Chronometer and 
  105. it will go on running, so when you restore it the time and Horoscope will be 
  106. current.

  108. If you are a Horary astrologer, PM Chronometer is ready for any question you 
  109. need to answer for any moment: as soon as the question is asked, focusing PM 
  110. Chronometer and hitting Print Scrn will capture the chart on paper. If you are 
  111. trying to do Electional astrology, you have in PM Chronometer a way of watching 
  112. for the exact optimum moment you were waiting for.

  117. If you are not an astrologer but happen to know someone who is, show him or her 
  118. PM Chronometer in action. Many astrologers, unfortunately, are more familiar 
  119. with Windows, and this sort of thing is not as easily done in that environment. 
  120. It's going to take awhile to do a Windows port of PM Chronometer.
