  44.                     Manually Installing Instructions
  45. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

  47.      The following are minimal instructions for manually installing
  48.                            AstroCalculator 3.
  49.  
  50. ■ Minimum distribution files:  README.AC3, ACAL3.ICO, ACAL3.EXE,
  51.   ACAL3HLP.HLP, and PSSHARE1.HLP.  These files may be distributed in
  52.   compressed formats such as AC3PKG.ZIP.
  53.  
  54. ■ Create a DOS directory named ASTRO3 and change to it:
  55.  
  56.   cd\ (enter)    md\astro3 (enter)  cd \astro3 (enter)
  57.  
  58. ■ Copy distribution file(s) into this directory.
  59.  
  60. ■ If necessary, decompress AC3PKG.ZIP as follows:
  61.  
  62.   pkunzip ac3pkg (enter)
  63.  
  64. ■ Add these statements to AUTOEXEC.BAT in the base directory:
  65.  
  66.   ∙ SET ASTRO3=C:\ASTRO3
  67.   ∙ append to existing PATH statement  ;C:\ASTRO3;
  68.  
  69. ■ Running Under Windows as a Non-Windows Application
  70.  
  71.  Follow the installation instructions and install on the hard drive C.
  72.  Start WINDOWS (tm, MicroSoft).  Click on FILE then click on PROPERTIES.
  73.  Enter the following information for each of the fields.  Description:
  74.  AstroCalc3, Command:  ACAL3.EXE, Working Directory:  \ASTRO3.  Click on
  75.  CHANGE ICON.  Enter Filename:  C:\astro3\acal3.ico.  Click on OK to
  76.  exit and click on OK to exit FILE.  The AstroCalc 3 icon should appear
  77.  in the accessory window.  Click on it to run ACAL3.
  78.  At "Get file" prompt type YES (enter) ant at filename prompt type
  79.  (end esc) PSSHARE1.HLP (enter).

  81. ■ To start from DOS with Application Manual like PSSHARE1.HLP, enter DOS
  82.   commands:

  84.   cd\astro3 (enter)    acal3 psshare1.hlp (enter)

  96. Note: A fool-proof claim that the shareware-released AC3PKG package
  97. has not been tampered with (hacked) during its shareware distribution

  136.          AstroCalculator 3 is a unique and innovative mathematics tool
