  3. IS A MULTI-MEDIA MAGAZINE DEDICATED TO
  4. BRINGING YOU THE FIRST REAL DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA IN WHICH WE THE PEOPLE
  5. DECIDE THE MAJOR ISSUES AFFECTING THIS NATION EVERY DAY.

  7. INSTALLATION >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>  AUTOMATIC

  9. TYPE AT THE A>'GO' {FOR EACH DISK}
  10.  
  11. THIS WILL COPY THE FILES TO YOUR HARD DISK, UNCOMPRESS THEM AND GET THEM READY FOR THE FINAL SETUP UNDER WINDOWS 'FILE' - 'RUN'.

  13. SO, WHEN DONE -- RUN FILE - AND THEN 'RUN' FROM THE FILE MANAGER AND TYPE '\PX999ION\SETUP' AND THE PROGRAM WILL INSTALL AUTOMATICALLY.  If you have trouble with this for whatever reason, go to the manual installation which
  14. gives all the steps to install manually.

The reason that this program might not install perfectly the automatic method is because our distributors sometimes make changes to the order of the files or the number of diskettes that they sell because of the different format of all the different drives out there.  We cannot plan for all these possible ways of distributing our program so we give you the automatic way it should install as above and the manual way to get it installed below.  Please bear with us.

  19. INSTALLATION  >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>   MANUAL

  21.    FIRST:  Copy all the diskettes you received to a subdir
  22.             on your hard drive called '\px999ion'. 
  23.

  25.             get to a DOS prompt and type 'MD\PX999ION'
  26.  
  27. THEN TYPE ...
  28.             C>'CD\PX999ION'
  29.             C>COPY A:*.* 
  30.  
  31. PUT THE NEXT DISK IN THE DRIVE AND REPEAT THE ABOVE COMMAND SO THAT ALL FILES ARE COPIED INTO THIS SUBDIRECTORY.

  33. THEN - IN WINDOWS - PULL DOWN THE 'FILE' MENU
  34.  
  35.    LOOK DOWN AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS MENU AND CLICK ON ...  'RUN' COMMAND.

  37. A DIALOG BOX POPS UP ASKING YOU THE FILE NAME TO RUN.

  39.    TYPE IN THIS BOX '\px999ion\setup'

  41. THAT'S ABOUT IT.  WINDOWS WILL AUTOMATICALLY INSTALL OUR PROGRAM.

  43. NOW, JUST CLICK ON THE ICON AND THE PROGRAM WILL RUN.

  45. IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS GETTING THE VIDEO CLIPS TO RUN ...

  49. YOU MUST INSTALL THE MULTI-MEDIA DRIVERS IF YOU WANT TO WATCH OUR FILM 
  50. CLIPS ON YOUR COMPUTER.  IF YOU HAVE WINDOWS VER 3.1, THIS MAY NOT BE 
  51. NECESSARY.  BUT WE FIND IN MOST CASES YOU HAVE TO DO THE FOLLOWING.

  53. 1.  GOTO the control panel
  54. 2.  Click on the 'Drivers' Icon
  55. 3.  Click on 'ADD' a driver.
  56. 4.  You will see a list of installed drivers.
  57. 5.  If you don't see 'MCI AUTODESK ANIMATION DRIVER' ...
  58.          You must click on 'UNLISTED' TO ADD THE DRIVER
  59. 6.  Fill in the dialog box with either 'C:\PETITION\mciaap.drv'
  60.       or the hard drive subdirectory where the files from disk1 & 2
  61.       were installed. example:  'C:\newdir\mciaap.drv'

  63.  This should complete the installation of this Multi-Media Magazine.
