AVERAGE USERS MONTHLY
An electronic media magazine dedicated to the support of
the average user. No extensive technical jargon, nothing to
insult the intelligence of someone who obviously has the
knowledge to download these files.
DISCLAIMER: The views represented herein do not necessarily represent
the views of the editors. Monthly contributors assume all
responsibility for ensuring that articles submitted do not
violate copyright protections.
NOTE FROM EDITOR: We're going to force this magazine down your throat
even if it kills us! By the time you are reading this,
negotiations should be complete for the distribution of this magazine
via ITC Net, Telenet Canada, Fidonet, and probably the Internet as well.
Have you noticed anything at all special this month? If not,
what are you on? We've changed the format slightly, so that you do
not require a text editor to view the magazine, However you still can
as the files are still included, so you can load up Qedit or Norton
Commander and view them manually. More choice for you all!
Enter the new Executable format. Beware, there will _NEVER_ be a
windows issue. There will only ever be one copy of each issue. At any
rate, send us the hatemail, about how much you love/hate it!
This month I'm going to work on getting better distribution for
the magazine via various electronic outlets. Firstly, if you have a
GEnie, Compuserve, Prodigy or the like account, get in contact with us
here. We'd like _YOU_ to upload the magazine to those and other boards
for the enjoyment of all. Also, if you have access to the Internet, I'd
like to see the magazine available from an FTP site. Bear with me if I'm
using the wrong terminology in dealing with the internet, but I'm still
new to it, and I have no posting or writing access on the mainframe at
school. Nor do I have the patience for the politics involved in attempting
to gain such access.
So netmail, snailmail, or phone us today, and let's get this thing
really off the ground. In past experiences with other publications (namely
the Sound Blaster Digest, may it rest in peace) the main problem that was
encountered was A) Funds (which is being taken care of right now by the
fact that I'm not offering subscriptions as of yet) and B) Distribution.
Join in the fun, submit an article, upload us around. We'll cover the
Long Distance charges to get the magazine to you (v.32bis and Dual
Standard owners only, please).
Lastly, if you have any small talent for making ANSI screens,
please drop us a line. Both Jeff and I are useless at it, and we'd like
to have a more attractive menu for the reader.
