Peritonitis
SYMPTOMS. Signs may include constant severe abdominal pain that is worsened
by movement, nausea, vomiting, chills, fever and diarrhea.
CAUSES may be by infection or irritation from chemicals or organisms that
penetrate into the peritoneum. This may be the result of a perforated ulcer,
ruptured spleen, ruptured gallbladder or bladder. The peritoneum is the
membrane that lines the abdominal cavity and covers the abdominal organs.
TREATMENT. Consult your doctor immediately. Surgery should be expected.
