Appendicitis
SYMPTOMS. Signs include loss of appetite, nausea, pain in the abdomen and
possibly diarrhea, constipation and fever. The pain starts in the area of
the naval and then it shifts to the lower right side of the abdomen.
CAUSES. Fecal material, sometimes worms, obstruct the appendix causing the
inflammation and allowing bacteria to multiply. The appendix is found at the
site where the small and large intestines join.
TREATMENT. The appendix may have to be removed by surgery.
.A physical examination and white blood cell count will be done.
