  8. This news is broadcast during the first full week commencing Monday
  9. each month, to the following schedule..

  11. Evening transmissions at 1930 GMT. on 3.584 MHz. mark.
  12. RTTY on Monday-AFSK, Wednesday-AFSK, Friday-FSK and Saturday-AFSK.
  13. AMTOR/FEC on Tuesday and Thursday.
  14.  
  15. Morning transmission at 1000 GMT. on 7.041 MHz. mark.
  16. RTTY on Sunday-AFSK.

  18. Stated frequencies could be plus or minus for QRM.

  73. Contests.
  74. ---------
  75. The CQ World Wide RTTY contest takes place from 0000 September 25
  76. until 2400 September 26. on all 5 HF bands. All digital modes may be
  77. used, Baudot, ASCII, Amtor (FEC and ARQ), Packet (no unattended
  78. operation or contacts through Gateways or Digipeaters).
  79. A station may only be worked once per band to score regardless of
  80. the digital mode employed. The same station may be worked on other
  81. bands for additional points.
  82.  
  83. Classification..
  84. 1. Single operator, all band and single band.
  85. 2. Single operator assisted.
  86. 3. Multi-operator, single transmitter.
  87. 4. Multi-operator, multi-transmitter (all band entries only).
  88.  
  89. Categories are...
  90. A) All band.
  91. B) Single band.
  92. Single operator assisted and multi-operator entries can only enter
  93. the all band section.
  94. Total contest period is 48 hours but not more than 30 hours of
  95. operation are permitted for single operator stations. The 18 hours
  96. of rest can be taken at any time during the contest in periods not
  97. less than 3 hours each which must be clearly marked in the log and
  98. summary sheets.
  99. Multi-operator and multi-multi stations may operate the entire 48
  100. hours contest period.
  101. Exchange message within the 48 continental United States is RST and
  102. state or VE area plus CQ zone number.
  103. All other stations exchange RST and CQ zone number.
  104. QSO points: One (1) QSO point for contacts within your own country.
  105. Two (2) QSO points for contacts outside your own country but within
  106. your own continent. Three (3) QSO points for contacts outside your
  107. own continent.
  108. Multiplier points are: (1) point for each US state (48) and each
  109. Canadian area (13) on each band. (1) point for each DX country on
  110. each band. KH6 and KL7 count as DX countries but not states.
  111. USA and Canada count as countries for the first contact on each
  112. band. (1) point for each CQ zone (40) on each band.
  113. Final score: Total QSO points times total multipliers.
  114. Logs must be post-marked no later than November 30 to qualify.

  118. Notes of Interest.
  119. ------------------
  120. Belize (V3). Will be active with RTTY again as V31BR from August 9
  121. to 16.
  122.  
  123. Saint Paul Isl. (CY9). Will be active as CY9CWA with some RTTY from
  124. August 9 to 12.
  125.  
  126. Eritrea (E3). This recently reinstated DXCC country will be
  127. activated by JH1AJT, DJ9ZB and K5VT during the first or second week
  128. in August, RTTY included. Eritrea was deleted as a separate DXCC
  129. country 14/11/1962 but is now an independent state from May 24 1993.
  130. Penguin Isl. (ZS1). James DJ0WQ plus DK2WH, DJ4LK and DJ2ZS will
  131. sign ZS0PI from July 28 until August 4. DJ0WQ and DJ2ZS will then
  132. move to Walvis bay (ZS9) from August 6 to 28 with RTTY promised from
  133. both locations.

  135. Pratas Isl. (BV9). Delayed operations from this new DXCC country are
  136. now expected early August. Look for BV9P.
  137.  
  138. Belau (KC6). Kyoto ARC members are mounting a major all band all
  139. mode operation including RTTY from August 8 to 13.
  140.  
  141. Anguilla (VP2E). John KA3DBN will be active on all bands as VP2EBN
  142. from August 22 to 30 with RTTY promised.
  143.  
  144. Kampuchea (XU). PA3DWC is now active as XU3DWC until he leaves in
  145. September. He has been worked on 20M. RTTY.
