  9. The FCC has extended until November 13 the comment date on a
  10. proposal, in ET Docket 93-62, that the Commission adopt new
  11. guidelines for evaluating the environmental effects of
  12. radiofrequency radiation.  The new guidelines would be those already
  13. adopted by the American National Standards Institute and the
  14. Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

  16. The FCC said that a request for an extension of the deadline made by
  17. the National Association of Broadcasters had been supported by a
  18. number of other interested parties.  The NAB said it asked for the
  19. extension in order to be able to complete a study to develop
  20. non-measurement-based techniques for complying with the FCC's
  21. proposed new RF exposure guidelines.

  23. The NAB said that its study would benefit both the FCC and those
  24. whom the new guidelines would affect, by making it easier to
  25. evaluate compliance with the new guidelines, which the NAB said are
  26. significantly different from the old.
