Lockheed L-14 Electra Rod Conklin 76525,3706
Jack Yeazel 76170,1501
This is a representation of the L-14 commercial airliner that was
a rival and contemporary of the DC-3 in the 1930's and 1940's. The
model depicted here is only one of many variations of the Lockheed
design, including a WWII bomber/patrol aircraft.
This particular aircraft (the Electra) served as an airliner and
cargo aircraft during the 30's and 40's. The design is a collaborative
effort between myself (appearance) and Jack Yeazel who did the flight
model.
I have included the .AFX file and the Source .SIM file for those
who have AAF to provide for modifications. I might note that this
aircraft was created at a time when airframe and wing designs were
not very efficient and it was not uncommon to see radial engines
with large amounts of horsepower used to compensate for that inefficiency.
So experimenting with the power and weight settings in the .SIM file
will probably mimic what the original designers did in real life.
AAF is not required to use this aircraft in FS4. Just copy the
files L14_____ and L14_____.SIM to your FS4 directory and select the
the L-14 as you would any other FS4 aircraft.
I hope you enjoy,
Rod
